Completely disagree with your dumb logic....
Have you ever been in this industry ? Its a life style we are used to and why change it ? when we can used the time that needs to be used for escorting. Why not used the youth and the skills that its on demand :yayo:

I disagree. I don't believe it is dumb logic nor a life style that a trans person is inherently "used to". Most of us aren't realizing when we are kids that we want to be women that escort. We have the same hopes, dreams, and aspirations as any other women. Its more a vicious cycle of our peers escorting and girls just falling in line with their peers status quo. I grew up working regular 9-5 jobs since I was 15 so when my "gay mother" told me I would need to start tricking when I began my transition I balked at such a presumption and kept working jobs and transitioning.

Its not dumb logic when I'm basing it off my personal life experiences of knowing a lot of prostitutes.

What you just said is dumb logic. When you are old and nobody wants to hire you any more, have fun on welfare or working at McDonalds because you are throwing away years of experience.

That's a little defensive of you Jamie. I think Amy has a reasonable view here. It could well be that some people have a clear choice to set up as an escort or pursue some kind of vocation, apply themselves and see returns after a much longer period of investment. They choose the easy option because they are fundamentally averse to exerting themselves in any way shape or form aka lazy. Nothing wrong with being lazy per se, it's just not great if you want to get peoples respect and have a good self-esteem etc. This of course does not apply to every escorting case but it's fair to say this is true a significant amount of the time. One only has to read the posts/reviews on here to see that! N.B. lazy people are not always escorts! lol

Are you serious? 'Get a job?' That's your response? Are you a Republican?

The fact is that even here in 'open-minded' California, it's hard for a trans person to find work because, well, it's hard for ANYBODY to find work right now. Adding the complication of being trans to the equations makes it all that much more difficult. Rejection sucks, especially when it's nearly perpetual. I feel for a lot of girls.

In my own case, I have a bunch of part-time jobs, I go to school, and yes, I also escort, albeit highly selectively. Every little bit helps.

As an escort for 7 years running I completely agree with Amy's logic. I'm lazy as hell and believe that working for anyone other than yourself is for chumps. I'm completely in lust with the free time that escorting provides me... I can pursue my music, work on making movies, have a girlfriend I actually get to spend time with, sleep, raise lamas, not raise lamas, really any kind of lama activity I see fit... The hooker's life is the life for me!

lol...I've been called a republican too many times. But I didn't say it applies in all cases. I know there are a lot of people who are doing it and going to school or just seriously enjoy traveling and thats the life they want. I also know its hard as a trans person to get a job just for the pure fact that they are trans. Even for someone who doesn't have any problem "passing" as a genetic woman it can still cause trouble for them and a lot try and stay "stealth" because of that.

However, the vast majority of the girls don't even bother trying to get a regular job and are as the girl up there said used to not having to go to work. There really isn't anything wrong with it in my opinion. I just think its a terrible life decision to make. You can never really progress in life just as a prostitute alone unless you get lucky and meet someone rich or something like that.

Exactly. I never said there was anything wrong with doing that. I think hookers are doing this world a great service. Same with porn stars. I just think that if you don't have a plan for the future, being a escort and not doing anything else isn't very smart.

I happen to agree that there are a lot of hookers with low intelligence and who are stupid. Not all of them though. Look at Jamie. She runs her own site, is a brilliant musician and I've met her before and she is obviously intelligent.

Lets look at you though. You only do it because as you stated are so used to doing it and not having to have a real job. You're way of having a conversation or debate is to result to calling someone a "fucktard"(not even a real word) or a bitch. You're spelling of millionaire is so terrible that my spell check doesn't even know how to fix it when I right click on your word.

So I just showed you two examples of escorts. One who is clearly of intelligence and one that can't even hardly string a sentence together. Let the anger flow through you. Yes......

Oh don't get me wrong, I haven't worked a typical 9-5 job in over 15 years. I've had my own business going before I hooked up with Grooby and have been solely working with them going on 7 years now. Anyone that knows me, knows that I'm far from conforming to any aspect of life.

Well possibly a Libertarian, LOL. Actually we all could do better with more freedom to have our lives our way, instead of the big brother gov't caring for us as long as we conform to their ways.

I had a spouse who was a MD that went into Alcohol Treatment. Afterwards, even though she was closely monitored with random tests and didn't drink at all, she was stigmatized seriously. Isn't it better to be in rehab than to be the next one found to have a problem.

There is serious stigma regarding sex work, when there really shouldn't be. Also, why is it so difficult for our society to judge the content of our character rather than what we look like.

I rather correct someone on their grammar than go around flinging insults. It's more fun. They get mad like you do. I could of also said something to the effect of that I think the only reason why you don't get another job is that the only one you are qualified for is one that of a prostitute. I could only imagine some of the laughs your resume would give....such as:

Phone number: nah-fo-fo fav fav nah fo

Either way. Your lack of intelligence was the point. Which you missed. Which someone of your level would miss anyways. I guess I expected too much from you.

I'm a Libertarian. I believe in personal liberty and I believe that it's almost impossible to achieve it in a manner consistent with the intentions of the Framers when the economic system is rigged towards the wealthy. The Citizens United decision is a joke. When there is economic opportunity (not a handout) for everybody, then this country will return to glory. There's just too much corporate money in politics to blame the unemployed for being unemployed.

What of underemployment? Look at Wal-Mart for example. People who work there full-time qualify for many government benefits, and rightfully so, but who funds them? The taxpayers! Still, that's no excuse to blame the victims. If prices have to go up, then so be it. Taxes will go down and one will only have to give the government money for consumption (of which we do FAR too much) instead of production (of which we do far too little).

Anywho, I'm 33, run my own production company, music studio, am the editor a lot of the porn so many people on these kinds of forums watch and I never have to set my alarm or make my way through morning traffic. ALL because of escorting...
I'll never knock it or warn against it.
Pay your taxes, squirrel a little money away every month, maintain a decent credit score just like anybody else and you'll be just fine in this business for as long as you're willing to "work".

Yes the too big to fail banks were deep in the Dodd-Frank, they hobbled the Community banks which lend to small business, basically cutting off loans to the best source of new jobs. Regulations are needed but they have a cost, often far more than the benefit. The decision to make here or in Asia is made on relative costs, shifting production overseas in what I think is the biggest factor in the decline of the middle class. The pols are doing very little to change this.

Retail has always been relatively low wage. But we have lost a lot of manufacturing, construction, and other high wage jobs. Only when our tax system shifts to being on consumption vs savings and investment will we improve. We also need to again make the small business that is in the community healthy will we start to grow at the 4 to 5% that we really need.

I agree fully that the unemployed and the underemployed are not to blame at all. I feel it is totally the pols in Washington of both parties that choose to not set priorities, instead just kick the can down the road.
