Black Sabbath is my all-time favorite band. The first album I ever bought was Sabbath, Bloody Sabbath and my first show was from The Mob Rules Tour. But, I just don't have confidence in Ozzy anymore even with Tony and Geezer writing most of the material. I would have rather seen Tony Martin get the job. He, at least, performs all the songs well live regardless of lineup.

I looooove Black Sabbath, but...

Ozzy Osbourne decide to sue Tony Iommi over the rights to the Black Sabbath name, merchandise, and image. He claimed that it was the original four members that made black sabbath what it is today.

The argument was made that Iommi, Osbourne , Butler AND Ward should all have a 25% stake in anything they participated in together. Meaning Black Sabbath through Never Say Die royalties, and any tshirts printed with the 4 original members, etc.

Now, fast forward to 2012. Black Sabbath reunion is announced. Everything seems fine until it is revealed that Bill Ward is going to receive a lesser amount than any of the other three original members. It was up to Ozzy to uphold his "conviction" in believing that all 4 should be payed equally. Why didn't Ozzy stand up for Bill? Fucking Hypocrite. Official reply to Bill "Bill can come back into the band whenever he wants" translation: you're still worth less than the rest of us William ol' chap, lulz.

-Tony Iommi is the one true Sabbath member
-Ozzy is almost in a catatonic state, and Sharon probably advises him to do the lawsuits and stupid shit he does. Ozzy got fired because he simply could not function as a band member any more, and therefore gave up his rights as a Black Sabbath member
- Geezer Butler is a hypocrite. He has contradicted himself so many times it's not even funny: Saying "sabbath with Dio and Ozzy are the only Sabbath I'll play in" then saying "Ozzy sabbath is the only sabbath I'll play with" . Look at the discography.. Still, best metal bass player IMO
-Bill Ward, probably the most laid back and ego-less of the 4. He quit originally because he missed Ozzy (Ironic isn't it?) Has come back to Black Sabbath on occasion when Ozzy is involved.

I will not support tours/reunions as such. I got to see Black Sabbath in 1998 , which was a dream of mine, to see the original line-up. Same reason I won't see Kiss with those 2 clowns imitating Ace and Peter.

I wish they would've kept going with Dio and never reunited with idiot Ozzy and his wife Sharon.

rant over. lol. :ignore:

Yes. He's the steady hand that's been steering the ship all these years. This ship needs to be docked in the Marina now. It'll take on too much water when they try to tour the new material and I really don't need to hear Paranoid live again.

Sabbath would have also been better off with either of these Candlemass singers. Doom Metal is inspired by Black Sabbath just as Sludge Metal is.

Ozzy is beat. Done. Finished. Zakk Wylde carried his ass for years too. The album will sell and I'm loyal enough to buy it. My real loyalty is to Iommi.

Black Sabbath has always been one of my favorite bands. In my opinion, the first four origional members up until Sabotage (fifth album, 1975) are untouchable. Saw Sabbath with Ozzy in 1978 at Ventura Fairgrounds in California..... horrible show... Ozzy could barely stand on his feet (I was having trouble myself... but I wasn't getting paid). Saw "Blizzard of Oz" in 1982 with Randy Rhoads at Irvine Meadows and that was incredible......

Black Sabbath guitarist pens Armenia's Eurovision song entry

LONDON (Reuters) - Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi has written the music for Armenia's entry to the annual Eurovision Song Contest, bringing a heavy metal pioneer to an event described by the media as a "kitschfest" and "bad taste party".
The musician, a founding member of the influential British band, said the song called "Lonely Planet" was a "demo idea" which was eventually voted Armenia's Eurovision contender.
It is due to be performed by the Dorians in the semi-finals on May 16 in Malmo, Sweden, Iommi said.
Iommi has connections in Armenia as he was one of several rock stars who helped raise funds after a huge earthquake in 1988 killed 25,000 people and let tens of thousands homeless in the then Soviet Armenia.
He was given an order of honour by Armenia during a visit in 2009 and became involved in another project, to re-build a music school there.
Despite critical derision, Eurovision is watched by a television audience of tens of millions each year, and has helped launch the career of one of the biggest acts of all time, Abba, which won in 1974 with "Waterloo".
Last year's Eurovision Song Contest was held in Azerbaijan and won by Swedish act Loreen. The victory means Sweden hosts the competition this year.
Iommi has joined fellow founding members Ozzy Osbourne (vocals) and Geezer Butler (bass) to record Black Sabbath's first new album in 33 years, 13", which is due out in June.
Drummer Brad Wilk joined them after original band member Bill Ward pulled out of the reunion recording over a contract dispute.
The band's plans for a tour in 2012 were scaled back drastically after Iommi was diagnosed with cancer and underwent treatment for lymphoma.

Attempt at pithy perhaps. It was short.

I saw Ozzy recently and he looked pretty good...considering.
He had cleaned up after Sharon left him and he was running around all over the stage.

That's good to hear. I'll always be loyal to Tony and Geezer but Ozzy's a wildcard. I was crushed when Ronnie James Dio died.

I too was saddened at the death of Dio. I was a huge Rainbow fan and one of my favorite albums is Mob Rules.
