Anything new today? I don't want to believe the worst but there's speculation about him being in on it. Others say if this were true he is a talented actor. Who knows? The reason I ask is that after I read it, it led me to a story in the Stranger about cancer and illness hoaxes.

Together, the two articles got me thinking how similar these hoaxes are to guys posing as promiscuous girls in chat rooms and forums to attract other hetero guys who we might say are a tad naive.

EDIT: By the way, if you haven't already caught this, Andrew Sullivan is conjecturing Te'o might be in the closet. No active NFL player who was gay, has ever been "out" during his career. They're thinking this was an elaborate story to explain how Te'o had a girlfriend, who died and how for the next several years he'll be grieving her instead of being a hound dog around every hot chick.
