Since there are so many details to the accident, it is easy to believe that it's real, but Global Associated News creates fake news reports.
A message at the bottom of the site reads: "FAKE... THIS STORY IS 100% FAKE! this is an entertainment website, and this is a totally fake article based on zero truth and is a complete work of fiction for entertainment purposes!"

The rumor of his death is being heightened at other news sources pick up on the false story. Auto Mobile also shared the story, thinking it was true. However Auto Mobile failed to notice that the report also spelled Nicolas Cage's name wrong and they made the same mistake by spelling his first name as "Nicholas."

Cage is alive and well. Yet people who are coming across the report are taking the Twitter to mourn and question the loss of the actor. Some examples of tweets include:
"Why is every one saying nicolas cage died.. Is this True??"
"NICHOLAS CAGE DIED IN A SNOWBOARDING ACCIDENT."
"NO NO NO NICHOLAS CAGE IS DEAD?!"
"RIP Nicholas Cage. I just watched It Could Happen to You earlier..such sad news..such a great actor. :("
Being that Global Associated News uses a generator to create death hoaxes, several other celebrities have died in this same exact snowboarding death story. They include Eddie Murphy, Adam Sandler, Denzel Washington, Jim Carrey, and even Arnold Schwarzenegger.
