Being an LA Native, I always approach this topic sheepishly. OK, I went to this place called Charley's Grilled Subs at the Food Court in Century City. Got 2 large w/everything to go. Got them home, ate them, and they were great. The roll was as good as the steak meat.

Now, is anyone from Philadelphia familiar with this place? I've always heard the complaint that they never get the roll right. I'm not sure if mine was authentic but it sure was good.

How I wish my little buddy Aly Sinclair were around. Anybody else help?

Bullshiiiiiiiiiiit. Their coupon in The Times motivated me to get a better sandwich today.

Hey Willie, you ever go to the place on Lincoln Bl in Venice that's open after the bars close? Forgot the cross-street but it's right by an AMP. Pretty good.

No wonder why we never run into each other. I hardly ever go east of La Cienega. I'll give a head nod if I spot you at Beverly Center.

Thanks for the link. The place on Lincoln is mentioned and another place by me on Westwood/SM Blvd called Philly West Bar & Grill too.

Right on Highland about a block south of Hollywood there is one opened up on the corner which from it's adverts in the window looks awesome.

If you ever see this truck in LA, do not attempt to approach it. Proceed with all due haste to an establishment (brick or wheeled) that actually serves food.

You're not gonna get a decent cheesesteak until you find a place that flies in fresh Amoroso rolls. End of story.
