Seeing that makes me feel so blessed I will never have to go through that and also makes me feel very silly for complaining about the pain after my two breast augmentations.

These surgeries were with Dr. Cardenas and his wife..that's not me in the photos..my friend just had surgery with him yesterday. She had a level 3 forehead done, her nose done, brow lift, and forehead contour. His wife does the noses.

I had my first work done by Dr. Cardenas and his wife..I had forehead contour, brow lift, brow shave, eyes done, and nose.
As you can see in the pic I used to shave my eyebrows for a more high arch affect, after I did this surgery I was able to use my own eyebrows and not paint them on lol

As someone who is preparing for similarly invasive facial surgeries, these pictures suck. I know surgery is going to be a painful and traumatic experience but I see the potential rewards as justification for putting myself through all of that. When I first started laser, which is no walk in the park either boys, I came up with a little saying I would think to myself. "Pain is boy leaving the body." After this kind of pain, I would hope the only boy left in my body is actually the dick of the guy pounding my cute little behind.

Surgery pictures don't bother me. I didn't feel any pain after..just numbness and discomfort from the packing up my nose and dry blood.

All my pain was from my boobies..

I used to love watching those surgery shows

But anyways

Finger licking good...pass the chianti

I'm happy I kinda like my natural look. There's things I would fix, but the thing I hate the most about my face I already asked a surgeon about it and there isn't much I can't do, at least not like I would like.

I've seen plenty of surgery shows, even autopsies, it doesn't troubl me at all. SRS will be my only surgery. (and yes, I saw videos of that too and it's not really prettier, lol)

No surgery is pretty - but facial work (because faces are so special to us) is the worst. Other surgery in close-up is just meat being carved.

I'm impressed by any one who can commit themselves to it.

I recently had surgery (nothing like that) on my ACL and was fascinated by how the Physician performed the surgery, including asking if I could have a copy of the video.

I take my hat off to whomever has surgery like that, the ACL was not all the bad (more fear than actual pain) but I could only imagine the pain and recovery time from that kind of surgery.

Plus it is my understanding that the kind of surgery is extremely expensive and health insurance (at least here in the USA) does not cover it. My ACL surgery came in at a little under $50,000 of which my Health Insurance covered all but $800 of it, I really cannot complain at all.

what ACL you have done ? i had my left knee rebuilt in 2008 ...as i shattered my platella in 5 places and damaged the cartilage .. took me about a year to recover from that ..

my Face Surgery I had done in thailand in sept 2010 took me about 4 months recover mostly .. then about a year ish for full swelling to go away .. looking forward to finishing off the face tweaks this year :) much like ACL its mostly fear than actual pain .. i was on so many meds/panikilelrs etc i felt nothing ..

After surgery i have some dead numb areas on my lower face where the nerves were damaged abit ..in particular the tiny bit of skin under my bottom lip has no feeling at all now .. for about an inch across ... kinda funny when i eat soup now as i dribble sometimes and dont realise haha

I had to wear this little plastic thing in my mouth for a month so the dentist could move my jaw back by half a centimeter, so I feel your pain...

Seriously though, since I'm considering surgery, it's very helpful to see. Thanks :)

I didn't think facial surgery was painful.

Just breast implants..Sara my friend just had it done and she said the same.

She said her SRS was crazy painful.

I had a trachea shave and that's the only thing I needed, since it betrayed me. Painkillers don't work well on me, but it wasn't painful except when I talked or swallowed. It's funny because my brain seemed to know that swallowing hurted a little so during my sleep, my brain wouldn't swallow my salive and I was always waking up in the middle of the night in a wet mess. I hope they'll prescribe something really strong for my SRS.

I actually just had some facial work done back in Nov. I went with a surgeon that has a rather light touch. I sincerely doubt most people will realize I had any work done. Even people that know me, the standard reaction has been "You look the same... but different... how... what... WOW!". The changes are subtle, but the effect is huge.

6 hours of surgery, and a few weeks zoned on painkillers. Honestly I don't remember it being very painful. Trying to eat cut apples a few days after surgery was honestly the most painful part (and I don't advise that if you have any chin work done with incisions inside the mouth). While yes I was on painkillers, painkillers don't actually "kill" pain, they just make you too high to care (or at least that's what they do to me).

By far the most annoying part, worse than any pain, worse than waking up in the post anasthesia ward scratching holes in your legs, worse than peeing in a bottle for a day, worse than desperately wanting solid food... is the numbness. My lower lip is still numb, though it's gotten a lot of feeling back it still isn't right and is all pin and needly (think your foot falling asleep), and the top of my head is still numb.

You think pain sucks? Get high, problem solved.

Try having an itch somewhere that's NUMB. it's LITERALLY an itch you CAN'T scratch! THAT'S INFURIATING!

My right knee and it happened while playing a game of Soccer (European Football) with friends in the local park.

Recovery took about 10 months all said and done, but the pain was surprisingly minimal, which I always accredited to my Orthopedic Surgeon, but maybe (after reading about the more complicated and complicated surgeries here) it is just the nature of surgery, the fear is worse than the pain.

got dropped on pavement by some dude ..and my knee shattered on impact..

it is the sole reason my legs are skinny and my ass is flat haha as i can no longer bend my knee fully back .. so i can only just now do a squat .. i had to let my good leg waste in size abit to balance out the bad leg that i built up abit ... now this year i have a heavy program of squatting with weights/ cycling to do to pump the muscles back and firm up the booty again haha mehhh

well what can you do ... no point crying over it anymore lol i hate the 10inch scar i have down my leg, i hate the fact my legs are to skinny for my body now, i hate the fact i lost half my ass size and firmness but its something i have to live with now ... not the greatest thing to have on your body when your in porn haha ... i see these marks as battle damage and quirky attributes to my look lol ..

sometimes i get anoyed that my leg no longer bends fully like it used to.. and modelling sometimes is hard for me if i am having to do alot of kneeling etc floor stuff .. as my leg locks up and then i cant move for about 10 minutes lol

big problem i have now is that my tendons or hamstrings not sure what they are called that run over the knee or behind have contracted so much from when my leg was locked into a postion for 9months they no longer allow me to bend my leg fully back on it self .it feels like its going to snap my kneecap out after a point . though i keep trying to push it further each time .. who knows maybe one day i will get it to fully bend again in a few years dunno ... i was offered a manipulation under anestic where they will snap my knee back a few times to see if it has hte flexibitly but i was told i have 38% chance of my kneecap popping and the tendonds all snapping ..so i decided to not do that lol

I got back about 90% of the flexibility in my right knee, but I accredit that to my Physical Therapist who at times caused me a fair amount of pain, but promised it would be worth it in the end.

She was right, my M.D. was pleased with my recovery and said that I healed better and recovered better than many of his other patients.
I did ask (at the time) about MUA (manipulation under anesthesia) and my M.D. said it was risky at best for a small gain.

I took that to mean stay away from it.

Lastly the scars, which are all small though somewhat gnarly looking, I look at as battle wounds (sort of character building).

yeah mua is really only meant to be done within 6months of the injury.. mine was in 2008 now lol

probably only thing i can have done is my knee opened up and cleaned out of debris/scartissue and the tendons lengthened maybe .. or just keep bending it as much a i can and hope over time it stretches again

Have you tried another round of Physical Therapy? (In the USA health insurance sometimes covers a second round)

My colleague blew out his ACL in 2007 and was not happy with the amount of range of motion he was able to get back and last year after consulting with his Orthopedic Surgeon tried another round of Physical Therapy.

While he did not get back 100%, the second round did improve his range of motion to where he is able to carefully play basketball and tennis, something prior he was unable to do.
