This wasn't new to me. One of my friends had her eyes go wrong after a night out. She wasn't sure if she had been slipped a mickey, but the last time we spoke she said it was likely down to her use of poppers.

I call shenanigans....typical scare tactics. Any "news report" that says using <insert substance here> just once has shown to cause harm is usually spreading propaganda. YOU WILL GET HIV FROM HAVING BUTT SEX ONCE. Sure poppers are dangerous if you have cardiovascular problems, but I call BS. There could be a million other things causing these people's vision to go bad. *yawn*

Unless you've read the actual study and can point to actual shortcomings therein, perhaps you shouldn't so hastily dismiss their findings as "shenanigans"?

I know, it's much to ask of internet forum participants.

They also failed to show said data. Until they can prove their claims, I call BS. Using MDMA once will cause permanent brain damage also! smh

I can understand the allure of poppers ,and used it a lot in the past, but stopped.
That shit is just too harmful.

My default is a position of ambivalence. The study could be flawed: too few test subjects, doctored or lacking data for example, or represent the epitome of scientific achievement.

Anyway, one day I hope empirical evidence will guide individuals' and political opinions on (medically related) topics and not mere speculation about being fed propaganda or false information. Perhaps it'll be possible to vaccinate entire populations at that point without conspiracy theories.

It's funny in that I'd thought all that raving would cause cancer and shit down the road... but as it turns out... it's anticarcinogenic. Yay for science!

Also I was definitely thinking about the anal toy, not drugs... when I read this thread initially lol.
