Actually he's one of the biggests cunts in the industry. I've been following this story with interest - funnily enough I was just having an argument with him last week on an industry board about how they get traffic.
For those who don't know - here's the abridged version.
Manwin owns MANY of the stolen content tube sites online. Part of their business model was to create these tube site, help wreck other people's businesses while building and buying out other companies (like Twisty's, Digital Playground, Playboy Online). Using stolen content from other sites to help market their sites.

It's highly unlikely that Fabien owns the company and more likely a front man and there have been various theories about where the money has came from to build and support this Empire over the years including german Banks, Wall Street investments and criminal organisations. It's also been suggested that Manwin can't possibly have paid off it's investors considering the amount of money they've invested.

Recently they've been in an expensive litigation with .XXX.

There was an expose by a German journalist in a large German newspaper a few months ago which was probably the catalyst for this investigation and arrest. One thing is for sure, there are very few tears shed in the industry for Fabien's arrest and investigations on Manwin. They've stolen our content and now it appears that they've stolen from the wrong people.

If they're incorporated in Canada, Europe or the USA, like most of the companies that I know and work with, then they'll be paying their taxes fairly stringently. I'm gutted everytime I see how much I have to pay the government.
