Which Internet browsers do you use?

I've been thinking about switching back to Firefox. Google Chrome uses too much CPU. It's freaking ridiculous. I love its features and apps. However, the CPU usage is becoming an annoying problem.

I really like Opera. It's great for porn. Hell, I think it was built for porn. It is the best downloading browser. No download manager is needed! It is also able to download porn files at higher speeds than the other browsers. Don't believe me? Then try it out!

The poll is multi-choice!

Opera had been my go to but it started getting buggy a few releases ago and stopped shutting down properly. It's also not compatible with a number of web apps I use.

I basically have 3 or 4 browsers on my system and I select them based on what works best with what websites.

SRware Iron is my default browser, but I have three installed on my machine for different purposes. Iron is my default because it seems to provide a pretty solid middle-ground between Maxathon's pointless feature-bloat and PaleMoon's lack of HTML5 and CSS3 support.

I've been using PaleMoon because there's a version specifically optimized for my processor-type, it runs off of a little less RAM on my PC by comparison, and many of Firefox's plugins I still find pretty useful. I only use Maxathon for web development as it doesn't really run all that well on my computer. Then again, my PC is an old-ass piece of shit, so...

You've got that backward. Originally, the source code for the first versions of Mozilla were from Netscape version 5, but the source was so mangled Mozilla ended up having to completely rewrite it before first release. Features from Mozilla 0.6 were incorporated into Netscape Browser 6 and from then on, it was Netscape that continued borrowing code from Mozilla. Netscape Navigator 9 was actually Firefox 2 with a couple of added features.

Internet Explorer isn't completely horrible anymore. Really hasn't been since IE7 assuming everybody runs some kind of antimalware app regularly and keeps it up-to-date.

Firefox with add-ons on my laptop and desktop; Safari on the iPad/iPhone. I have Opera for the iPad, but rarely rarely use it.

Is IE Inland Empire? :D

Netscape's rolling into Mozilla is quite literally Netscape evolving into Mozilla, you cant tell me Redhat or Fedora arent quite literally Unix/Linux with a twist, just because you alter the source code, doesn't make it stop being what it originally was, hell that's the whole purpose of the GNU licensing, to allow things to evolve and get better!

And a quick fyi, who do you think paid the majority of the programmers who were doing Mozilla's code?........that would be....Netscape? Who funded the organization?......Netscape........

And IE will always be something dirty people do to their computers to me, they gave themselves a shit name and deserve it rightfully so, I just wish they would allow you to incorporate upgrades/updates through other browsers, its one of the few things I wouldn't hesitate to uninstall from any computer I build or support.

I use Safari with "Private Browsing" for HA etc , then reset Safari after each use , in the hope of maximum privacy/safety.
For everything else I use Firefox, which I prefer.

whats the best tablet to buy right now, chromebook or ipad ?
I'm looking at the new Samsung chromebook because it has a physical keyboard and it's around $250 but the ipad2 has come down in price since the mini came out.

I'm interested in easy to use browsing, email, facebook, etc. not building a rocket over here. thoughts ?

I think it's ridiculous that anyone needs to use different browsers for different sites. I just got a new computer which has Windows 8 and IE9. The only problem I have had with IE9 so far is on another TGirl forum. It doesn't allow me to color the text and also I can't skip a line. How stupid is that? My problem is that I'm an old dude and trying to figure out how to use the other browsers is a pain in the ass.

I use Safari primarily, but on iPad use Perfect Browser - better/easier to use privacy features.

IE has always had problems with translating and correctly supporting web standards. If at all possible, I script while keeping Internet Explorer compatibility in mind, but when it comes to personal projects and testing my layouts under different browsers to ensure compatibility, I ignore IE because I already know it's going to give me issues and I'd rather not end up using a bunch of CSS hacks I wouldn't normally need if Internet Explorer didn't blow goats for quarters.

Unfortunately, either a lot of other web developers agree or don't test browser compatibility at all. There are a lot of nifty little ways around Internet Explorer's problems, but I liken it to practically scripting out two or more completely different webpages since everything ends up with some conditional script modification just incase a user is running certain versions of Internet Explorer.

I'd recommend pressing-ahead on using a new web browser. I'd probably suggest Google Chrome or Opera; in that order. Chrome can be modified through it's settings and toolbar customization to be really simple and no-frills.

Problem is, getting it there is complicated. Kinda redundant that to make things simple, you need to do a bunch of complicated customization. It's still worth using Chrome as-is. At least you won't experience almost nonsensical script-interpretation problems as you surf the web.
