Reports in the press this week that, before his disgrace, General Petraeus was approached directly by the head of Fox News Roger Ailes and told that Rupert Murdoch wanted him to run for the Republican nomination as Presidential candidate -and would throw all the muscle of the Murdoch global media empire behind him. He refused.
