View Full Version : Help Me Decide

BEFORE I transitioned...

I was HEAVY into guns....But after I transitioned...I renounced violence. I dont even carry pepper spray on me. If someone wants to take something from me...( i.e my body..money...car..Etc )Why not just give it to them. They are kill me anywayz.

But lately I have been DOING very well for myself. I feel as if I SHOULD have SOME protection , even though I dont believe in that stuff anymore....

So I decided on buying a pair of 1911's just to have in my safe. ( I'm weird, I have ALWAYS bought my guns in 2's )( dont ask me why )( it is what it is )

I Dont want anything less than .45ACP, but when dealing with that, capacity comes into play....... So I decided on something from Para-Ordnance.

I cant decide between the 18.9. Which is 18 Rounds + 1, of 9mmx19

http://www.para-usa.com/new/product_pistol.php?id=10

http://i45.tinypic.com/zvplih.jpg

Or the P14.45 , 14 Round + 1, of .45 ACP

http://www.para-usa.com/new/product_pistol.php?id=89

http://i49.tinypic.com/aylx5w.jpg

They BOTH come in a stainless finish, The 9mm is SLIGHTLY more expensive.....But I dont care about the price. I have set aside $2000 for the two...They BOTH are DOUBLE STACK design....and I LOOOOOVE that big A$$ 1911 "FULL GOVERNMENT FRAME" )( And no I dont like it just cuz I work for the Government..hahaha )

So I cant decide if i either want Capacity or knock down power...

Whatcha think ????

They will NOT be "carry" guns......They will just sit in the vault collecting dust, along with the All the Gold, Silver, & Copper Bullion..LOL ( but they will be there if I need'em...- 4 Left, 3 Right, 2 Left, 1 Right hahaha )

Realistically ...you should take the punching power of the .45 over the 9mm. Capacity is nice ... but assuming you hit what you aim for - you'd rather drop the problem immediately - then worry about whether you need to squeeze another shot.

I'm not a gun person myself, but a gun in a safe does not provide any protection unless you know the threat is coming 15 minutes before.

Most revolvers were 6 shots for a long time. I think it is rare for a cop to squeeze off more than a couple of rounds.

I think getting the concealed & carry permit and staying current in your use is important with it. Maybe it stays at home most of the time, but there will be times where you might want it with you.

...or you might want to move. I hear real estate is pretty cheap right now.

Had those 1911 debates more times than I can count. I drive American but Germany keeps me safe. 8+1 of .45s is all I'll ever need.

9mm just pisses some tangos off but, .45ACP kills 'em.

For $1000 you can't go wrong with a Sig. Trigger is like butter right out of the box and the Siglite Sights work great. Always use good ammo. I like Federal 230 grain JHP as opposed to the high velocity 180s or 165s.

I LOVE Germany....Even drive a German car! But I looked at Sig's 1911's

They look like mutated P226's! and that was a TOTAL turn off!

Springfield Armory & Colt were my other two choices. Two Springfield GI's or Two Colt Series 80's...

Check out Kimber or see about getting 2 Custom Wilson Combats also. Les Baer has a good reputation too.

Those Trijicon Night Sights are worth the money.

Do your research and get the 1911 that is best for you. These gun store guys are nitwits who are brand loyal for the sake of it and a bunch of braggarts too. Make your own decision and take your time. 1911s can get pricy. One of the main reasons I chose Sig. Take it outta the box, load it, and end someone.
