I was curious enough to google this, and then find that most of the reports state that Hackman 'slapped' the man, one says he 'smacked' him, the link in this thread has 'punched'. The majority seems to be with slapped, and as Hackman had given this man money before, the possible confrontation is not as violent as the word 'punched' implies; so where is the story?
