First it was the Republican National Convention being delayed because of a tropical storm travelling up the Gulf Coast. Now it's Storm Sandy disrupting the last few days of the campaign. Now, if I was a God-fearing fundamentalist (which, thank the Lord, I'm not) then I would seriously think that God was trying to tell me something.

Just need a plague of frogs.

Christian preacher blames gays for Hurricane Sandy

Chaplain John McTernan has said God's judgment of gays caused the hurricane nearing the east coast of the United States
29 OCTOBER 2012 | BY JOE MORGAN

An anti-gay Christian preacher is already blaming Hurricane Sandy on gays.

As the east coast of the United States prepares for the storm, which has already killed 60 people in the Caribbean, author and chaplain John McTernan has decided who is at fault.

On his website Defend Proclaim The Faith, the preacher says the gathering storm must be God’s judgment on gays, and punishing the president Barack Obama for coming out in support of marriage equality.

He believes ever since George Bush Sr signed the Madrid Peace Process to divide the land of Israel in 1991, ‘America has been under God’s judgment since this event.’

McTernan said: ‘Obama is 100% behind the Muslim Brotherhood which has vowed to destroy Israel and take Jerusalem.

‘Both candidates are pro-homosexual and are behind the homosexual agenda. America is under political judgment and the church does not know it!’

His reasoning for this is that it has been 21 years since the ‘perfect storm’ of October 1991.

’21 years breaks down to 7 x 3, which is a significant number with God. Three is perfection as the Godhead is three in one while seven is perfection,’ he said.

McTernan had planned to host a prayer meeting tonight (29 October), which would be streamed online on his website.

However as the storm is scheduled to go right over his house, the preacher has warned the sermons may be stopped if the power goes out.

The online minister also blamed Hurricane Isaac, which later became a tropical storm, on homosexuals. He said gay festival Southern Decadence was to blame, as God was ‘putting an end to this city and its wickedness.’

Thousands of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people enjoyed Southern Decadence, and nine preachers were arrested for an aggressive anti-gay demonstration.

Tris Reid-Smith, director and editor of Gay Star News, who is in Baltimore, Maryland for LGBT workplace conference Out and Equal, said: 'So far it looks like any cancellations to events over the next few days are just going to give us more time for partying.

'If God is trying to punish the gays, he sure doesn't know how to do it.'

Sandy, dubbed a ‘Frankenstorm’, could affect up to 60 million people as several states have declared emergencies, schools have closed and transport services suspended.

Romney: Its ‘immoral’ to help states with federal disaster relief

As tropical storm-Hurricane Sandy bears down on the east coast, all those not in its wake can rest assured that if Mitt Romney were President the rest of the nation would not have to pay for or worry about emergency services, disaster relief, clean up, or emergency funding, because if Romney were President, he has promised to rid our nation of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, aka FEMA, and send this responsibility “back to the states” or to “privatize” the emergency services.

During a CNN debate during the GOP primary season (video posted with this article), Mitt Romney was asked, in the context of the Joplin disaster and FEMA's cash crunch, whether the agency should be shuttered so that states can individually take over responsibility for disaster response.

"Absolutely," he said. "Every time you have an occasion to take something from the federal government and send it back to the states, that's the right direction. And if you can go even further, and send it back to the private sector, that's even better. Instead of thinking, in the federal budget, what we should cut, we should ask the opposite question, what should we keep?"

"Including disaster relief, though?" debate moderator John King asked Romney.

"We cannot -- we cannot afford to do those things without jeopardizing the future for our kids," Romney replied. "It is simply immoral, in my view, for us to continue to rack up larger and larger debts and pass them on to our kids, knowing full well that we'll all be dead and gone before it's paid off. It makes no sense at all."

And if you do live in the path of Hurricane Sandy, under a Romney administration, tough luck, but if you are a strong proponent of the 10th Amendment for individual State rights and a small federal government, then you are happy, because that disaster that destroyed your home and community will not be anyone else’s problem but yours, let freedom ring.

God hates us because we've allowed a Mormon and a Muslim to run for the highest office of the land. God is not an M&M fan. He prefers Skittles, probably cause He's not of this Earth.

Election day is next Tuesday, just 7 days away.

If power isn't restored, especially in Swing States, can you imagine if all the ballots have to be made on paper and counted by hand?

Talk about controversy.

God has multiple personality disorder. I don't trust Him.

God has multiple personality disorder. I don't trust Him.

I know at least three personalities - father, son and holy ghost.

More evidence:

1. God is extremely intelligent. He knows everything but rarely lets on

2. God makes his own rules. He is not influenced by other factors but his own opinions when making decisions.
3. God likes ceremony. He appreciates folks who worship regularly, sing in choirs, give up something for Lent and so forth.
4. God is jealous. He does not want people to turn to other deities – or even to a love of money or sex. He wants to be first in people’s lives. He gets jealous

5. God is slightly sexist. He almost always relies on men, not women, to do his bidding.
8. God thrives on praise. He revels in the worship and devotion of millions of followers. He loves to feel loved - maybe he is insecure.
9. God enjoys undertaking thousands of activities at the same time and keeping track of millions of people and events. When he’s not busy, he gets very bored.

Sounds like a bad boss to me
