Here's hoping you enjoy it as much as I enjoy making it....

Usually it takes a minimum of half an hour. The most time I've ever taken was 3 days.(It can take forever to find the right pieces when your model folder is as big and cluttered as mine)
I have never done commissions,but I'd definitely like to...

Thanks! Right now I am using DAZ Studio 3 Advanced. I have Poser 9 and DAZ Studio 4 Pro,but issues with my laptop keep me from using them right now.
Also,NO postwork since Photoshop CS5 died on me...

I've been doing Digital Art for 7 years. I've been an artist since I started drawing at age 2...Digital is the way to go for me,much more expressive than I can draw.

It's funny but as a writer I find that I write stories for images in my head but seldom actually write them for others to see....Of course by the time the image is made the story has changed once or twice already...

I'm an old man...how is this done? Do you work the figures up from scratch using a program, or is this a collage of pre-existing pieces put together? I love some of the images.

I use a 3D program called DAZ Studio. The main model I use is called Victoria 4.
Morphs are applied to the base model to make it into different female characters. Then the skin is put on along with make up and eye colors. After that you give her her clothing (each piece is usually a separate model) and finally her hair. Next, I go to my poses. I pick whatever pose I want her in and adjust the clothing if need be (it doesn't always move correctly). I can pose her hair as well if I need to simulate wind (not all hair has it's own poses). then I either pick a backdrop (2D picture as a background) or use one of my 3D buildings or landscapes as the background. After that we pick whatever lighting is appropriate to the scene,and finally render it. After saving the JPEG I either post it or sometimes sign it,then post it. It is definitely easier than it sounds...The hardest part is figuring out which light will cast shadows for an accurate picture. I've only been at it for 7 years,but I also had my artistic side develop early. I've been an artist my whole life,drawing,writing,painting,and 3D art. Three years of Graphic Arts paid off too! if you know anything about photographic lighting then 3D lighting is EASY! I love doing what I do and even my longest time consuming renders are fun and never seem like work!

This sounds really interesting and I like what you've done here. I had some art training,but only at the high school level, but I love how computers changed the whole game a bit. Unfortunately I was never really good at photography,so if that is a required skill for this type of thing - I'll have to stick to the basics.

It's all Greek to me dude, but you got a talent here. You really should try to get these out to some tat artists. This is desirable artwork. In fact, I'm looking for a new piece for my back. I might PM you. There are some real unique pieces that in the hands of the right ink artist could translate into some outstanding work. There's lots of detail, so the pieces would have to be large to be fully appreciated.

Chaos, these characters reminds me a little of those from The Nightmare Before Christmas, from Tim Burton. It leaves wild room for imagination. My daughter loved this movie. These characters you make could maybe even please kids if you wanted them to be.

Worse than that. The GOP is infinitely more regressive socially than it was four years ago with the rise of the Tea Party phenomenon. It has become a fundamentalist party in the most pejorative sense of that term and with all the lowering threat that it carries.

Not sure I have the imagination. But I would say that the boat sank in high sea, and the little character is back to settle something.
But the gloomy colours, the mist, the praying statue, the greenness of the water, the threatening sky, all of that creates a very eerie, dreamlike scene, heavily charged, despite the aspect of the little guy.

Nope. its a clothing set called Lemonade and a specially made texture set for it called the AMP suit. I got it not even knowing I needed or even had Lemonade....So I had to use it to test it out.....I think it works...The character is a body morph from one character and the face morph from another..
The nice thing about my models is that using a single morph set can make lots of different people just by using different skin for them (sometimes).

So I've been gone for a while....been kind of busy,been kind of out of my own loop....Meh,it happens....
For what it's worth I have new software and a lot of new stuff to play with...
Was thinking I'd come back....

I also had to move rather suddenly. I was supposed to move into a new house,and at the very last minute they sold it...forcing me to stay with friends. On the plus side it's cheaper for now so I got to buy some things I really needed,and a few I wanted :D
Hopefully moving into a new house in April. Probably getting a new desktop soon....which is nice,since my gaming tends to murder laptops...Though my Sony is a trooper and hasn't had any issues...yet.

Had a few breakdowns along the way....nothing major though.
Which is good, I tend to spiral if it happens too much/often.
But it's all handled,and I sprung back,like always.
Overall I've been better than usual, if I'm being honest about it.
I definitely needed this time to spend on myself....Both monetarily and in my head...
