I thought a change in subject matter might be nice . I already know the answer, but i thought i would see what the members think . This thread has nothing to do with any polls taken . It is the personal opinion of each poster ( except for the actual City ... lol ) . Let's hear your favorite(s) .

If you are talking most beautiful city in terms of people and the overall atmosphere it has to be Miami....

If you want my opinion on the most beautiful/peaceful place to enjoy a vacation check out Jackson Hole Wyoming

It would be the beauty of the city itself . In essence, like looking at a picture and/or the physical beauty .

Alright well I'll stick with Miami and let others put up their choices ... Other suggestions would be New Orleans or San Francisco

I would have to say any city near Denali National Park, I think Healy is the closest or maybe Anderson

Why not Maui or Honolulu?

San Francisco in the West and Pittsburg in the East if you are talking urban cities.

Bruges?

I thought that was in Europe, not America . Remember, your answer is your opinion and yours only . It doesn't matter what another answer may be . Even Prospero recently posted a thread on beautiful places in the USA . There are alot of them . This thread though applies to Cities whether large or small .

Bruges was a joke referring to the movie In Bruges(they called it a fairytale city). Anyway I already said my opinion and never knocked the others

"even Prospero" ?

Well for what it's worth I think two places really - Santa Fe and New York City (Manhattan)

though I'd allow San Francisco or Charleston to compete with these

Also... I love Denver... if you catch the city with the mountains in the background, it can be majestic

Do small towns count? In which case I'd add Sausalito and Taos

you know....i wrote one of my long winded posts but decided it isn't worth my time to actually debate this.

new york city for all its glamor, grime, history and meaning is by far the most beautiful city in america.

I think it really depends on the season but my votes go to Carmel, California and of course, Portland, Oregon :)

As a matter of personal preference, I'd vote for Portland, Oregon.

That is stretching it a bit Nevada though, tis true, the OP did not specify the US.So I'd add Quebec to the list.

Chicago...

chicago and south beach (as well as miami proper) are the only 2 cities in the US i can stand to be in other than NYC. If you discount the latina hotness on south beach, I would have to agree that chicago is the 2nd most beautiful US city. its diversity in architecture, river/lake views and cosmopolitan population are its best attributes

I just knew this was going to come up . America is the United States . Canada is Canada, Mexico is Mexico, Belize is Belize, Panama is Panama, Costa Rica is Costa Rica, Honduras is Honduras, Nicaragua is Communist . They are all in North America but are Nationally America . I believe i even mentioned the USA on one of my replies .

Hopefully it is now cleared up, so let's keep hearing about beautiful places within the USA and under It's Jurisdiction .

In the US, I'd lean toward Portland, Seattle, and Salt Lake City.

DC I would put our lakefront with the skyline backdrop up against any in the world.

That and Cole Park.

Naaahhhh RallyCola and I might not agree on much but I am with him in nominating Manhattan as the best for both physical and other reasons. If we are talking BIG US cities.
