I have been in transtion/hrt since 19.....

I come across time and time again Most notable TS porn stars/escorts....Given Birth Name & Original Gender markers....

My question is this.....

When you look the way you do..TOTALLY Female...Make LOTS of cash....and pretty much have a good start...

Why do they wait so freakin long to change their birth name or Gender marker with DMV??? I know its a little harder with SSA but still.

But what got me thinking was the thing EDITED ( aka Sarina Valentina ) I was looking up her arrest records ( was curious..sue me..lol ) and she was still listed as Male at the time of her arrest.... EDITED ( aka Anna Alexandra ) was another that dint bother to change name.

I'm sure she has looked the way she has for a very long time. ( 100% passable ) She has lots of money...and Nevada just last year put out a form where u could change your gender marker via DMV with a doctors note basically. I have seen a LOT of TS/Escorts arrest records...and they all look the same.

I'm just curious..What stops these girls from making the change document wise??? Is it because when you dont change your documents...You still have the allure of being TS ( i.e Male, whilst looking female ??? )

Or is it that you look soooooooooooooooo freakin passable as a woman...That is doesnt really matter if your gender says "male" and your name is Tyrone ???

What happins when you try to go get a job....Example....You apply for a job nd get an interview.. @ the interview..You LOOK like Jennifer Paris...But your documents states that u are male....and had your male birth name.... Do you have to find a company with a SOUND EEO Policy???

I'm curious...The question has been on my mind for a VERY long time.

This is the BEST place to ask!

Thank You

xoxo

I find it strange that some TS (who are def not TVs) on adultwork.com leave their gender marker as Male.

As for the rest of it , it varies from country to country on the ease and legality plus the personal preferences/apathy of the individual or in the case of the USA from judge to judge :D

In some cases it would be a third-party who's recording the gender mark and in those cases it could come down to honesty, prejudice or stupidity.

It's a relatively straightforward process in the UK and certainly not down to the whims and prejudices of an individual judge. I've accompanied a couple of friends in transition for their name change and it's a bit like renewing your driving licence at the post office lol. Neither of them were sex workers, by the way - just ordinary girls fulfilling one more stage of their transition to womanhood.

No posting legal names here unless it's been released by the individual or part of a media article.

Had to look that one up. To be fair you did get a pretty cool name that could go either way. It wasn't no, Horace, Dwight or Englebert.

if u change your gender marker there are things that can happen, Like not being allowed to fly into Canada or domestically withing Canada. Personally I lived in Toronto for 3 years. I have lots of friends there. I would never want to not be able to go see them.

I don't get it either.
I altered everything as soon as legally possible after transition.
I know some who have transitioned years or even decades ago,
where they haven't altered all their papers, to reflect their adopted gender
Maybe they are more self secure in themselves than I am,
and don't need some papers for self-validation.... http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-rolleyes010.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php)
(just sayin'... )

I was talking with one friend who left her male side behind 20+ years ago.
It was clear that the papers thing was something she wanted to .
But because she could get on with day to day stuff without the effort of sorting it out,
she had left it.
Her body language made it clear to me that she had put it off and off
because she just didn't want to look at her past. Sorting papers would require just that.
Think denial.

Also they begrudge the hoop-jumping required by the authorities.
(in my opinion hoops that should be there)
Changing from male to female legally has huge implications in every area of society
where any authority interacts with us. From hospitals to pensions to insurance actuarial tables
(risk demographic calculations).
Too many wanna-be-Ts fantasists* to let people do the paper-thing on a whim.
Though this reality understandably pisses off women with a ts history,
who had SRS 20 years ago. I can see it from both sides.

Ts women with papers not congruent with their being, aren't any less a woman.
Any more than a pre-op / non-op Ts is less of a woman than a post-op ts or Bio-female.
They are just a woman who needs a good friend to give them a push and a helping hand, to get that stuff sorted.

*which in it's own way is bizzare; I don't know any Ts women who actually want to be a Ts woman. Just woman would be nice. Ts is not really an aspirational life choice. Just stuff to deal with.

Its a crazy situation all in all by itself.

I am VERY secure with myself.

A few years ago...I got my name changed legally ..and a year after that..Nevada made it easy to change you gender marker on your drivers license with a simple form your doctor. I just went to my plastic surgeon got him to write a note and boom I had my marker changed from Male to Female.

Unfortunately I was born in Tennessee. One of THREE states that will NOT amend gender markers even once SRS is completed.

My Drivers License Says Female.

My Passport says Male.

My Birth Certificate says Male.

Social Security Administration says Male.

My employer ( Dept of Homeland Security says Female ) ( 10 + Years )

I could get my passport changed to female with another doctors note.....But because my birth certificate can never be changed...is there really even a point to do so.

Call me crazy...but as of lately...I have actually been thinking of going BACK to the DMV, and gettting my "M" ( male ) designation back.

Will prolly be better i thinking in the long run with new..obama care coming up and things that REALLY need to be specific to my physiology. ( Biologically male )

If i get the "M" back...at least ALL my papers will be in line with one another....

I'm not sure what to do. The only reason I got everything up to par was because in order to obtain Security clearances for my job....Everything had to be in order.....But from what I hear from My peeps in washington...It doesnt really matter either way...Now the The federal Government has adopted the EDNA act. So I'm good either Male or Female. I dont lose my pention or retirement or lifetime medical if I choose one or the other.

And in Nevada.....If you change your gender marker.......You have the option to revert it back only ONCE...after that...You are stuck with that Gender for the rest of your days whilst residing in Nevada.

Financial reason.

I have 5 properties and investments under my real name.
Besides, as you already stated, if we are passable, everything goes so smooth and nobody bother to see whether we are "M" or "F"

I would think that would make the transition more complete. You have a very passable beautiful transwoman and she shows her id at the bar or restaurant and it still has Sam list on the id that would be akward. My ts girlfriend is in the process of changing her name and gender on her license. She feels that she is no longer that person who was given that name at birth.

The problem seems to be not with whether or not transpeople want to change their gender markers but the lack of a level playing field. In an ideal world, once someone changed, all other legal documentation, anywhere that applied, would too. We do not live in that world and that puts Tpeople in a very bad position. Tyler I guess you are in the UK where actually things are pretty reasonable in terms of making these changes and they will be upheld anywhere in the UK and Europe (no problems with travelling, living, working anywhere in EU under the changed gender). Furthermore, again in UK, once a tperson has changed gender their previous gender is sealed and it is a criminal offence to reveal it.

Clearly things are not so easy everywhere else though, but quite how an authority would know a tperson had changed gender marker if they are presenting a valid passport and other documentation consistent with the new gender is a bit of a mystery to me.

Yep, the UK.
After you get a GRC (http://tinyurl.com/dg6wc6)they are not allowed to ask about your past.
We ain't got no badges.
We don't need no badges.
I don't have to show you any stinking badges! (http://tinyurl.com/dzjach)

Crappy laws in some parts of the USA.

I have been living as trans for 10+ years...and this shit is STILL confusing/perplexing to me....hahaha

I'm just gunna go get my "M" back and be done with it. End of story.

Your asterisked point is well made and matches the experience of my ts friends in the UK. In fact, for most, being ts is itself a "transitional" step in the arduous process of achieving womanhood, and while there are girls who for their own reasons prefer to retain their penis for life, again most in my experience who are into escorting see that less as a way of life and more as a financial means to an end, whether that happens to be cosmetic changes like FFS or full gender reassignment, and generally with the intention of finding the right guy and settling down.

And bloody good luck to each and every one of them.
