I don't know if/how many BMs have eaten at Hakkasan in New York City (West 43rd St) [there is a branch in London and I haven't been there either]- what puzzles me about his bill, is that not only did he turn up late, but he seems to have got everything for free! How does that work out? Is there a bias in NYC in favour of celebrities? Like the ad says, I am nobody, can I get an upgrade?

ps, Is it even that good a restaurant? Someone I know who went to London's Hakkasan said he could barely see or hear his companion it was so dark and noisy...

Following his gruelling, five hour match against Novak Djokovic, Murray and his party – including girlfriend Kim Sears – headed to Hakkasan on West 43rd Street.Despite having being closed for half an hour, the restaurant opened its doors to the Grand Slam winner.
The group promptly tucked into US$6,448 dollars worth of drinks at the Ling Ling bar, including two bottles of Louis Roederer for $396, four glasses of Cabernet Sauvignon and 17 Zesty Martinis for $255.
At $64 for four glasses of Cabernet Sauvignon, the group was clearly enjoying the Three Saints 2009 from Santa Barbera, priced at $16 a glass – or $65 a bottle, which was evidently ordered later .
However, the final bill (see below) appears to have been lowered to only cover the service charge of $1,289.
Food included spicy prawns and roasted silver cod. Through it all Murray drank a single lemon soda – worth $6.

In the posting of this item, you've successfully explained why he got it for free.
