I would like to know what is the office politics of HA? I know about and participate in corporate office politics. I am a good friend with our corporate office chef and his staff; I get a lot of perks off this relationship. The people who ran the gym at my office are personal friends who will keep it open for me past closing times or open it early if I need an early work out. When I have a problem at work, and my department cannot fix it, I do not go to the manager of other departments, I go to the people of who actually do the work, know the functions, and can solve my problem. I know these peoples spouses, kids, where they go to vacation. I take their calls, answer their emails, show up at their personal office celebration, (birthdays, promotions, etc…) I do this not to get promotions but to make my day-to-day better and out of respect.

As such, I do not understand the office politics of HA. Some posters and commentators can be attack mercifully, while some you cannot speak badly about anything. I don’t know now who the owners of HA are, who the moderators are, (not that knowing will change my comments). I also don’t know much about porn and do not watch much porn so do know not who the untouchable porn stars are and who can be attacked (I do not think personal attacks are helpful, but there is much hypocrisy on HA) Some commentators here are flying solo, nobody protects or defend them, while some will “volunteer as tribute
” to defend others.

So could somebody explain the office politics of HA to me?

Personally, I think that you're probably reading a lot more into things than they deserve. I think, on the whole, people are pretty much equally represented here.

Do you have examples of what you're talking about?

We make up the rules as we go.;)
Do unto others....blah, blah blah.

Do what the fuck you wanna do, just don't be an asshole about it.

I think there's a "no trolling Wendy" policy related to me. Other than Freddie passive aggressively calling me ugly no one ever trolls me... I feel left out :(

I'm not going to kiss anyone's ass. If anyone says anything about me I don't like, I'll ignore them. Once in awhile I'll reply, but it really isn't worth my time of day, especially if they aren't paying my bills or putting food on my table.

I could be REALLY nasty (in the bad way), but I respect folks...even those I've never met.

I don't understand the question. Office politics as you describe them are inter-personal relationships. As you said, you know their kids, etc. Here nobody knows anything about anyone personally other than a few girls who are probably friends.

So why do some providers get hammered and its all good, and some get a pass.

Heh @ Dinsdale. :)

I don't think that there's any politics, per se, but from my point of view it seems to have a lot to do with basic common sense and a decent behavior.

I've been here on HA for a dog's life and then some and do my best not to piss on anyone's opinion or poke anyone in the eye with my responses. Admittedly, I have failed at that on occasion and have been summarily bitch-slapped in return.

I've also met and befriended some of the regulars here, both guys and gurls, and it's helped me a great deal in getting past my usual social speed bumps.

From what I gather, if you feel that you are unnecessarily getting kicked around and bullied on these boards you need to step back and take a moment to see if you have personally triggered those reactions. I've been there, done that, and usually found myself to be the asshat that was setting everyone off.
