Always liked this film. Remember seeing it over and over on cable as a kid. Movie about kids in a newly developed town that have nothing to do and too much time on their hands. I won't go on too much because I'm bad about revealing spoilers.

Who's seen this and what do you think?

Cause we're old Dino , I'm sure some folks prefer "Rebel without a Cause" over this.

great use of "Surrender" by Cheap Trick in a memorable scene.

Soundtrack reminded me of Fast Times. Great song.

Over the Edge is a great Movie. Reminds me a lot of growing up and a lot of the freedoms we had. Rec Centers, BB guns, Skipping School, locking parents in the school...lol

Would make a nice double feature with "Suburbia", maybe the same tract neighborhood 5 years later :)

If you look close enough you will see me in the movie . Also you will see Matt in the scene at school when the teens are trashing it . This scene takes place after the incident with Ritchie and Dobermine . For those that have seen the film know this could not happen . Matt just wanted in on the fun .

Another good one with a young Matt Dilon, that reminds The Outsiders a little, is Coppola’s Rumble Fish. Very good movie imo. I haven’t seen Over the Edge, but I’ll check it out…

The Outsiders and Rumble Fish, along with Tex (also starring Matt Dillon), are all movies based on books written by S. E. Hinton, which is probably why one reminds you of the other.

Are you referring to Diane Lane?

She was on the cover of TIME magazine at 14yrs old so to be with her in HS was pretty awesome as she was already famous.

Here she is at 16 or 17 to bring those memories back even more lol: http://knifeinthehead.blogspot.com/2010/03/diane-lane-december-1982.html
