When it first came out, I thought it was really funny. Today though, I think the humor has run its course... just seems like the current shows are just recycled humor. Hard to keep things fresh over so many seasons though.

I think what's-his-face should probably stick to that though rather than make movies like Ted.

hehe i think the opposite! I didnt really like family guy but seen someone recent ones and theyre much much better than old stuff :)

South Park is probably the tv show which goes the furthest without being censored or forbidden. It surely has something to do with the poor quality of the drawings; it seems innocuous in itself, but it’s dangerously corrosive and funny.

The Simpsons established where "the line" is in terms of humor. They would flirt with it but not really cross it. Family Guy went so far past that line it brought it to a whole different level. It's a great show but yes, unfortunately a lot of the recent episodes have just recycled some of the same themes/jokes from the past.

Family Guy has always been funny but in the last couple of seasons they've started doing truly interesting and memorable TV. It's like they have so much creative freedom that they'll do anything. The episodes Brian & Stewie or Road to the North Pole are great examples. Their mini remakes of movies (beyond just Star Wars) are often more fun than the original. I find myself liking both the parody aspect and the product as genuine entertainment in its own right.
