More specifically, Visa is asking paysite operators by way of third-party billers and merchant banks to cease using certain terms in certain contexts—for example, the use of the word "forced" when combined with "orgasm," or the use of the word "torture" when combined with ... well, probably any sexual activity.



Again, why this is being done now is unknown, but Visa/MasterCard appears to be very serious in its intent to remove from websites that accept the cards any hint of sexual activity that could be perceived as violent, even if it is consensual.

Although I agree with the bare principle, it still is a bold move by Visa. There’s always a way to get around something like that. Might be simply to turn to another credit card, or even find other ways… But I’m sure that, for now, their efforts will pay.

This is nothing new - visa regulations have always been very strict about the usage of certain words and themes. We've had to remove text that says "Cindy forces her cock into his tight ass", etc.

Tried looking into mobile / SMS payments. None that I know of will do adult... at least here in the US. Same with companies like Square. If someone could start an adult company like Square... that would be fantastic. Hop on that, would ya?

I don't think there will be a workaround. They already shut down Brazzers best selling site Pornstar Punishment. If they're more than willing to shut down a company's best selling site then they are more then willing to do the same towards other companies.

That's what I thought until I started talking to some people and looking at numbers. Although porn may sell in the billions, it's miniscule to the amounts that Visa process daily.
American Express dropped any form of adult entertainment years ago because of "moral issues" and they don't seem to be suffering.

American EXpress is a minimal used card compared to visa anyway there 6% surchrage is bull ... when i ran my IT company and had my own merchant account .. i had to take American Express was a joke with the surchage they wanted ,, mostly my american clients wanting to use that card though .

The point being, that they dropped porn completely and it doesn't seem to have affected them. 6% must be high risk. Most merchants on Amex are a lot lower but significantly higher than Visa/MC.
The industry is at the behest of the credit card companies. We need them - they don't particularly need us.
