Romney, from his book "No Apology" wrote:
"England is just a small island. Its roads and houses are small. With few exceptions, it doesn't make things that people in the rest of the world want to buy."

I disagree. I've seen Sammi and Libby make boners that many people around the world would like to buy - or at least rent.

He has probably changed his opinion by now so you won't have to disagree anymore. And yes, I found it hilarious that the British press thought more of Sara Palin. Can't get much worse than that for Romney. And have you noticed that in every ad he puts out with an Obama clip , Obama is taken out of context. If that isn't dishonest I don't know what is.

Romney, from his book "No Apology" wrote:

And no doubt the trees are too small as well, unlike Michigan's perfect forests.

But apparently the Olympics Committee took his assessment seriously.

Willie, we could always turn this into a UK boners thread. And you're right, Joanna and Holly have lovely ones.

In the meantime, the UK's resident twit, Mayor of London Boris Johnson, has hit back at critics of the sponsors, such as McDonalds:

The mayor of London told reporters on Thursday (http://london2012.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/07/26/boris-being-boris-londons-mayor-goes-to-bat-for-mcdonalds-sort-of/) that criticism of McDonald's was "all just bourgeois snobbery".
"It's classic liberal hysteria about very nutritious, delicious, food – extremely good for you I'm told – not that I eat a lot of it myself," he said. "Apparently this stuff is absolutely bursting with nutrients."

What he would say if either Liberty or Sammi were to offer him their buns I cannot predict...

Yo....I think the post was not so much about Mitt, but about British T gurls...but Odey is coy like that. We can turn this into a political thread if you'd like, but that would take the focus off the intended subjects...something you got sucked right into. So I'll answer your foolishness, then we can return to admiring the ladies....

Here is what Mitt said, so even you'll understand the context of his comments

“England [sic] is just a small island. Its roads and houses are small. With few exceptions, it doesn't make things that people in the rest of the world want to buy. And if it hadn’t been separated from the continent by water, it almost certainly would have been lost to Hitler’s ambitions. Yet only two lifetimes ago, Britain ruled the largest and wealthiest empire in the history of humankind. Britain controlled a quarter of the earth’s land and a quarter of the earth’s population.”

I don't see the outrage, in fact, probably most Britts would agree. It wasn't a slight...he was referring to waning US world influence and the consequences of that, and used the England as an example of a smaller country yielding tremendous world power, domination and influence.

And as far as his latest comments....the Britt I despise most, Piers Morgan actually got this correct when he explained that Mitt wasn't saying anything every Britt newspaper hadn't editorialized about in the weeks leading up to the Olympics. What's the big fucking deal?
I'm not getting it. The previous generation of Britts withstood everything Hitler could hurl at them, and did so with incredible dignity and humanity, and this generation has their panties twisted because of a few words by an American Presidential candidate who was referencing stories in the British Press.. WTF's going on over there? I heard a Britt journalist last night explaing that the Britts love rock stars, and that no one can accuse Romney of that. Me..?? I'm more drawn to competence and seriousness rather than song and dance. lol

Are you sure you want to bring Obama's name into this with the amateurish behavior he exhibited towards the Britts.....???? The returning of the bust of Churchill, the gifts of White House CD's and an IPod to the Queen, loaded with pictures and speeches of himself, Or his referring to the Falklands as the Maldives....while on British soil.

Get a fucking grip, dude. You got a bunch of liberal weenies in the press over there, so it's to be expected.
Sorry for this brief course correction....now back to Sammi and Libby and rock stars.

No offense but why does London feel the need to have a mayor who looks like Gary Busey?

It is Brits... not Britts

and essentially while I don't didagree with th corrected quote from Romney's book, I just think his remarks about the Olympics were very undiplomatic. Makes you wonder where he'll put his foot now he's in Israel.

And yes Bain were very efficient at helping people out of work and making vast profits from it.

While we are at it what about those tax returns dear old Mitt has still not disclosed.

It's one thing for you to criticize a member of your own family - but God help the outside person who criticizes them. That's just common sense, good manners (especially when you're a guest in their house, and diplomacy 101).

So if you liked the Dubya years then you're gonna love Mitt.

amen prospero and dobie.

As a further rejoinder, did you describe the british press as "liberal"? thats quite the joke! London is where rupert (i hack dead girls phones, deny science and buy governments) cut his teeth.

Cmon freedom... there is one liberal paper in London (The Guardian) but the rest are shades of blue (in the UK Blue is conservative and red is leftish)

it's the......not th, and it's no wonder your economy is careening towards Spain. You're clueless about entrepreneurial private capitol investment. ( the operative word there is PRIVATE...as opposed to oh.........say taxpayer money that pols dish out to politically connected friends and contributors to the tune of billions) If it's doesn't come from the government, you're hard pressed to consider it legit or worthwhile. Good Luck with that. You're going to need it.

No comment on the IPOD ? LMAO

I don't like Mitt Romney......
He's a rich douche and he's gonna lose.

But what he's basically saying is,

AMERICA > england

That's about right.
