I love to go see live bands out in clubs. Last night I went to see The Feelies at the Paradise Club in Boston. They're an indie rock band from New Jersey/New York that started in the 80's, gained a pretty big following, got signed to a major label, then broke up after 2 albums on that label. They were disbanded for nearly 20 years, then started playing around again like 3 or 4 years ago, and released their first album in 20 years last year. I have seen them 3 times before, but the last time was in '89. Last night's show was fantastic. 2 sets, 5 encores. They played for nearly 3 hours, and they were as tight as ever. A really great show.

My best concert experience EVER was Sigur Ros @ the Joint inside the Hard Rock in Las Vegas, on 'shrooms. I laughed and cried uncontrollably, and was in spiritual ecstasy from beginning to end. I couldn't separate what was happening on-stage from what was happening in my soul! It was a real-life miracle!

I'm sooooo jealous. I've never seen him live. Have a good time!

This is one of my favorites of his more recent output, performed on his talk show, Spectacle.

I've seen Elvis C in concert four or five times and he can be mixed. He is a great song writer but used to be very belligerent to audiences. Onetime he was playing so loud all the music was distorted and you couldn't hear the lyrics. Lots of members of the audience shouted for him to turn the volume down. So he turned it up! He was still playing the snotty punk then. Another time i saw him with the string quartet after he recorded The Juliet Letters album and he was terriific, he was good when he organied the Meltdown festival in London a few years ago and then I saw him do the show where he used the giant wheel of chance (which he has revived for his current tour) to help choose which songs he is gonna sing next - and that was probably the best. As he gets older he mellows and works in ever more different musical genres. It's a shame his US TV show Spectacle only got a very limited UK showing.
