Which is why i like it, been harangued one too many times in bp chat by escort girls/fakes/weirdos, for those of us not into the whole escort scene tvchix is a welcome relief.

Don't get me wrong i've made a few friends on bp but it's really slow, prone to crashes and the chat room is a pain, now with the hopeless new design i really have no reason to ever go on there again.

I went and had a look at Birchplace and even if it was working okay it's just plain ugly and unappealing now. Before it was simple with all the ads 3 abreast and you scrolled down - any idiot could browse see a pic of a girl that appealed and then check her out and when her page came up it was easy to read and see whatever pics she had provided. From a design point of view it was a very simple interface to use which would have made it appealing to someone looking for a girl. Now you only have so many ads a page and then when you check a girl out you have to open her media to browse pictures. It looks worse and it's much less appealing for a casual user. I'm all for technology if it makes it simpler and easier to use but whomever designed this has overcomplicated the beast. They seem to have misunderstood the purpose of the site - it's to bring punters in and the way it is now they will become frustrated. The old rule applies KISS (Keep it Simple Stupid)

Birchplace has always been the slowest site on the net. Now its even slower and looks like its been designed by a 2 year old.

Chat rooms full of people who are never there. Tiny fuzzy photo's that take forever to load. Hell, you can't even check your sent mail unless you pay!

You can only view a 8 member pics unless you upgrade to 'gold' or 'silver' member.

With all the free social networking TS/TV sites out there, Birchplace has no chance.

Yes. Set your browser zoom to 75% while on someones profile and it should be on the bottom right. (Yes, they really have messed things up pretty bad...)

I gave up on Birchplace after they sold a bunch of my stuff and then switched payment providers claiming that gave them the right not to pay me what was being held in the previous account even though their sellers portal stated that all money owed would be paid. Something tells me if a customer paid that money went somewhere and it sure the hell wasnt to me...

rods being a bit harsh there. Going back to oldschooldays 1997-98 (tut i was a bit young to be lurking on such websites then but hey..!), and early 2000s , right into middle of 2000's rxxx , aka birchplace was the leader and only place to go for a very long time in the UK... it wasnt that slow back in the old days, the 2nd version wasnt bad either.

they got big problems at the moment, but as no one gives much of a fuck about the UK in general i cannot see any competitors popping up, TVchix caters for a diff angle, AW is purely commerical.... BP still has time to sort itself out, probably a lot of it.

The old site wasn't bad. It always seemed a bit cheap and nasty, but based on the subject matter, I didn't really see that being a down point. They used to have some great features that no other site did as well, and it was a welcome place to go and chat to friends when someone was stalking me on Chix. (It happens a lot, I think it's my fault, but I don't know what I'm doing wrong).

The best use of their money really should have been increasing the server support to handle the demand they were getting. The speed of the site was the only real issue anyone had with it (that I'm aware).
