The title pretty much sums it up. I want to check out what kind of art and little projects everyone's working on in their spare time. It doesn't need to be amazing; even if it's just a doodle in MSpaint or a short story, post it up.

A couple o' rules, though. If you want constructive criticism, say so. It's not entirely off-limits otherwise, but be considerate and respectful if it's not asked for. If you think someone's work is shit, shut your face about it. In other words, just be decent.

This isn't just for artists. Programmers and scripters, link to source and scripts. Do-it-yourself'ers, grab a camera and upload your latest tweak project. Singers, song-writers, audio composers... post links to your tunes. If you fix up cars, tell us about your latest build. Computer modders, post pics of your cases and list your components. This is a showcase for anybody who has any kind of creative hobby.

I just spent 10 minutes looking for this. It's an old copy of an old mag cover featuring the model who would later marry J C Mellencamp.

Yes I am! I love doing lots of things with wood, painting, fixing things, creating spaces, etc.
And of course love creating tools that I use on my sessions :geek:

That could be art... just cover up things in a unique pattern - maybe only tan in places where this guy has chest hair?

If these pieces had been 'made' by Damien Hirst (assuming he knows what a saw and a chisel are) both would be worth about half a million by now...

The chair on the right actually looks really neat. I know it's purpose isn't simply "a chair", but it still looks ascetic. Nice stain job. I tried to do stainwork on my last furniture project and fouled it all up.

Not bad. I've never had a camera near nice enough to get into photography (jealousy). I noticed the blacks in your picture aren't really a true black. Old, boxy CRT monitors are a big pain in the ass, especially if you don't have a whole lot of desk space, but I noticed that when I switched back to them, my photoshop work stopped having contrast and color-washout issues.

Wow... what do you use to make your sculptures? I used to do pottery a little, but having to take clay elsewhere to get it baked is a big pain so I gave it up. That dragon is way cute, though.

That's actually the reason I work with polymer clays... I don't need to take them anywhere special to fire them. oven baking FTW.

Most everybody's seen little examples of my photoshop work, so instead I'm switching it up with music. Nothing too great... just a lot of FLstudio music I made with soundfonts. I still have the project files around so constructive criticism is welcome.

GrimFusion's Music on SoundClick (http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=723367&content=music).
If you don't want to listen to all the tracks, Disillusionment, Exodus Theme, Through the Branches, Exeter, and It's the End are some of my better tracks. If you're a nostalgic video gamer, check the Donkey Kong Country 2 Mine Remix, Link to the Past: Final, or the Shadowgate remixes.

I have lots of other projects I can link to. Just not all at once.

I don't even remember what it started out as, it wasn't what turned out. My sculpting phase was real short. But super-sculpey is great, it molds great, and you put it in the oven it it gets hard and dense. I hope more people post stuff, this should be my favorite thread.

Nothing too impressive, but I just finished a design on a custom start page.
It's just basic HTML and CSS, no PHP. Yes, unfortunately I'm using an iFrame, but I wanted to apply separate CSS styles to the dynamic content without using inline CSS. Inline is a pain in the kiester. Besides, PHP would have required I ran the page from a webserver and I'm not about to go through all that trouble just to have a convenient start page.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v102/grimfusion/start.jpg

The buttons in the iFrame are just links set to display as block content with a background image. That means the whole button is clickable, not just the link text. I could have used javascript to do the same thing, but this way adding new site buttons is as simple as copy/pasting the URL. Stupid simple.

I didn't want to go crazy using HTML5 or CSS3 because firefox and IE suck at supporting them, but I added voice recognition to the google search box which helps a lot when I'm feeling abnormally lazy.

Neat. I like playing with threshold values and photomanipulation. I really dig the rigid, contrasty color and shade variations. I created a few pieces like that back in the day, then ended up developing the technique into something that kinda looks like vector art. I suck at illustrator. lol.
