As some of you may know, our new village idiot has been continuously whining that some of the veterans and I have not initiated enough of our own threads. To that end, I give you the following thread, complete with a poll and some pics.

The question at hand is whether or not Koko the gorilla (see pic 1) is smarter than Aedan (see pic 2). As many of you probably already know, Koko is an eastern lowland gorilla that has learned to fashion crude sentences using American Sign Language. Aedan, as we all know, is a human who has learned to do much the same thing through writing. For the record, Koko’s handlers have tested her IQ at between 70 and 95 on a human scale (100 is considered “normal”). Aedan’s handlers have, as yet, been unable to establish a basis for comparison. I leave it to you to decide which primate is smarter based upon who has communicated more effectively and articulately:
