I have some drag queen questions

I have watched some recent drag queen performance vids on youtube and it made me wonder a little. Some of these drag queens have had tons of surgery, some have enormous boobs and obvious facial femme surgery, so on.

When does a drag queen cease to be seen as a drag queen and become a TS ? I am assuming you can be both and the drag queen persona is "their job". But when it comes to drag competitions and what not is it frowned upon or held against them competition wise when they have enhanced themselves surgically? Sorry for being dense, I'm just curious how all this works.

A lot of drag queens are TS... there is a huge section of drag performers that are TS.... there is a huge pageant in Chicago with mostly all TS competing called Miss Continental

Erica Andrew, Krystal Summers, Mimi Marks, and so on are TS who perform in drag. Also a huge drag club featuring mostly ts drag performers in Chicago called The Baton. Its not uncommon. Back when Stonewall happened, they're was no term for Transgendered coined yet so they called ts DQs.

Miss USOFA can be gay and trans competing

Miss Continental can be Transsexual or very fem looking gay boy in drag...

Miss Gay America you can't have any cosmetic surgery below the neck or hormones

Kourtney who you see in a lot of Wendy's production has placed top 5 at Miss Continental

She is one of my favorite performers - her Dolly Parton is dead on!

But do they have to separate them in competitions? Like TS and Male ( drag) compete in different comps? Seems a little unfair if a guy has to go against a surgically enhanced TS ? Not that I really care , just interesting .

They all compete together... its about talent! Only one pageant TS cant compete with drag is Miss Gay America!

I was at a Ball in Atlanta then in LA and the TS there look the best and many will not post on a ts board cause they are in deep stealth(deep cover).

a few I know pictures have popped up on Eros a time are too and some have even did vogue(the magazine) and a few others but they have not been outed as of yet.

the TS who was caught with teddy pendergrass was a model in deep stealth.

I think here in the UK a Drag Queen would be a man who may or may not be effeminate in mufti, but is assumed to 'drag up' to entertain. There is a long tradition of 'dragging up' from the Elizabethan period (possibly before) through to today via the armed forces entertainment and music hall.

Here is a classic routine by drag queen Maisie Trollette -the sound isn't perfect but the gags are classic ('this dress is American, one Yank and its off!') and she really is the epitome of what British drag should be.

Yep - maybe it is different in UK. A drag queen is a guy who dresses as a woman - often for showbiz purposes - and is really a cartoon, a huge exaggeration of a glamorous woman. Different from crossdressers who dress for sexual thrills, TVs who may - or may not - be steppng out onto the road to transition or again may be dressing for sexual thrills or, when it comes to escorting, because they can do more business and/or make more money in drag than they can as men and the real TS who- as we've discussed here endlessly - are women trapped in male bodies. Of course some TS girls dress as drag queens. Or appear to. But the bottom line is drag queens are usually - but not always - homosexual men dressing as exaggerated ideas of women.
