...what's the best way to meet and get to know a fun and down-to-earth transgendered girl on a human level (not just a sexual one) in this great city of ours?

I know there are already at least 10 threads on this forum listing transgender nights and hangouts in London. The name that comes up time and again is the WayOut club. I've been there once before but found it a little seedy (although I might have felt this way because I was there on my own and didn't know anyone). Perhaps tsdating.com is a good alternative?

I'm looking mostly for friendship and an insight into the TS lifestyle. I've fantasised about transsexuals for ten years, and have been to see an escort. I recently opened up to my family about this - I feel liberated and would now like to look beyond the sexual fantasy and get to know the wonderful people behind it.

Any suggestions on how to go about this would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

...and what a bargain at "only" $580! :p

So should I take this to mean that finding a transsexual friend in London is as likely as having sex with an enormous bear...or that I can bribe you into being my friend by pimping this bear out to you?

I know a ts in London who is in her 20s and works a regular job, doesn't like clubs that much, prefers movies, and isn't obsessed with shopping or designer clothes. She is pretty much like most people, in the sense that most people are not working in the 'entertainment' industry. There was also a ts who worked for House of Fraser in my town but was not a regular, stepping in as cover at various stores in the region, and she was in the female/youth fashion sector where single men are considered a bit creepy, unless you insist you are buying a bag or a scarf for your girlfriend/daughter (depending on your age). sometimes when you least expect it, you find yourself in a store and right in front of you is the girl of your dreams. Ts-Dating probably has more 'regular' type ads in addition to the usual ones, I wish you luck anyway.

If you like Asian girls you could try the LongYan club, which is LGBT, and does a lot of sport like Badminton. I understand they dropped their annual Miss and Mr LongYan and now have a LYC Factor Competition, just to prove that they can sing I guess...

@ tyler - thanks very much for the link to your entry. very genuine and informative. you've opened my eyes to a lot of things i didn't previously consider. that said, i'm hoping the fact that i'm looking for a friend and not a sexual partner should make things a little easier?

@ stavros - thanks for the tips. good to know that it's not impossible. i'll keep my eyes peeled.

Hi all,

This is my first post. Just joined today. You could say a "virgin user..." , caught my eye as I am new to all this also. Been thinking about it for ages, and finally took the plunge to join this site and get to know some people.

Not too sure on seeing a TS as yet,......, but I am gonna go out to the famous wayout club to have a look.

So hello all you people out there in London town, hope to meet some of you soon.
