Kim Dotcom (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kim_Dotcom)
In 2010, Dotcom leased a NZ$30M mansion at Coatesville (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coatesville,_New_Zealand), near Auckland, owned by Richard and Ruth Bradley, the British founders of Chrisco, and considered the most expensive house in the country. He had an arrangement to buy the mansion when the lease expired,[48] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kim_Dotcom#cite_note-47) but the New Zealand Government declined his application to buy the land on the basis that he did not meet the "good character" test.

...looks like he also done a lot of insider trading.

We must bear in mind that imperialism is a world system, the last stage of capitalism — and it must be defeated in a world confrontation. The strategic end of this struggle should be the destruction of imperialism. One should never put on one's best trousers to go out to battle for freedom and truth. :ignore:

....so you're comfortable with being a shoplifter rather than diamond thief? Not judging you for downloading stuff but it looks like you're trying to distance yourself from those who download movies and music and.....well.......there really is no distinction. If you download copyrighted material without paying for it you're a thief regardless of what it is you're downloading. Having said that, keep on doing what you do - empires have been built on thievery as recorded history tells us - as the corporations need to have roadblocks to prevent them from domination.

Let's not pretend otherwise - you're a fucking PIMP! Good for you and your clients - I've enjoyed your wares in the past - although as we've seen time and again the girls you pimp aren't always as happy with what you do. In some circles you're the one that would be hung, drawn, and quartered. Hahahah - seriously brilliant. A cut out and keep for my wallet.

"A pimp is an agent for prostitutes who collects part of their earnings. The pimp may receive this money in return for advertising services, physical protection, or for providing (or in some cases monopolizing) a location where she may engage clients. A woman who runs a brothel is known as a madam rather than a pimp."

On second thoughts, I don't do anything like that ... guess, I'll have to find another word for what I do. What's your's runningdownthatdream? Failure? Douchebag? Mr.Jealous? Perhaps all three.

LOL........I'm not hating you......in fact I respect what you have done which is almost singlehandedly create the online transsexual porn market. However, a dictionary description of the word pimp doesn't absolve you or any of the porn producers of the reality of what you do. Again, I don't have a problem with it.....I would just suggest that you don't take what you do so seriously. You are making money (and plenty of of it too based on that house in Hawaii!) while the people you are making the money off are mostly scrounging for dollars to survive. Why not be satisfied with what you have and leave the 'pirates' alone? They are not harming you and their impact on your revenue stream is negligible at best. If you did manage to shut down piracy and make more money - would you pay your talent more?

I'm extremely serious about what I do and I enjoy it. You're not hating on me but you are calling me a "pimp" which is not what I do at all?

I'd estimate with no tube sites or filelockers (bit-torrents are too difficult for casual surfers) we'd be making 20-40% more revenue. That's fairly substantial. Our revenue gets split between partners in individual sites, some models and staff bonuses. If we were making more revenue it's likely in the first instance I'd increase the amount of shoots going up on each site weekly - models gets more work more regularly, fans get what they want.

I think the payscale of what models get per shoot is pretty fair in comparison with most of the industry but I'd certainly like to get more work in the models directions whether as producers, models, marketing or otherwise.

Understood.......but you realize you continue to create the means to your demise by allowing content to be downloaded from your sites, right? Why not form an alliance with the other major producers of TS porn and agree to only stream content? It won't solve the problem 100% but it's a start. all the companies complaining about piracy is approaching the problem from the wrong perspective - invest in technology to protect the IP rather than involve government. I think your approach to dealing with the issue by having government get involved is like using a shotgun to kill hornets.

You might not be a pimp in the classic meaning of the word but your industry does facilitate exploitation - some to lesser and greater degrees. I think many would agree with that statement.

Nice concept but going streaming only isn't the answer at this point, Tgirl Pinups was streaming only and I've never seen a site more pirated than that. We can't even get all main producers to get in on an award show (although most of the main ones have), most people are short term business minded.

Exploitation? I don't believe I or my company exploits anybody at all but I think there are parts of the industry that does. I'm certainly more comfortable doing what we do, than working for many companies of which I'm sure you and most people have bought good from, that exploit workers on a daily basis.

Short term business minded indeed! So rather than your industry try to work together to fix a problem you are all advocating government involvement which inevitably leads to long-term damage to everyone. As you plainly saw with SOPA there was a massive over-reaction by politicians. FFS even the president couldn't side with the damn bill. You strike me as a fairly liberal-minded person - do you really want SOPA to take effect?

Absolutly not in it's current state. It was never meant to take effect, it was a "shock" bill designed for when the real bill comes through in the future, everybody will agree with it. What I want is for people to profit from the crime of piracy to be liable for it and to be closed down/cut off instead of using the existing loopholes in the current law.

As it stands, if we can track down a pirate we can take action against then. I have three running against individuals right now, two in the US and one in Canada. These are people who accessed our content (two illegally by using hacked passwords) and uploaded it to Filelocker sites, so they could then advertise our content on pirate forums and get paid an affiliate amount each time somebody downloaded it. That was their choice of profession, they knew it was illegal. The persons downloading it, also knew it was illegal (I don't believe anyone who has the ability to go to these sites and download could think otherwise).

Now while it's all very well taking action against the pirates, the companies that aided them in their piracy:
a) The Filelocker site, which wanted them to promote the pirated content as that's how they make their money, through selling premium (faster) download packages.
b) The billing company ... often Paypal, a company who refuses to work with adult material yet despite 1000's of adult webmasters pointing them to Filelocker sites using their company to bill, for adult (and pirated) content, they refused to take action.
c) the pirate forums, who made their money from advertising space and affiliate sales

all had legal loopholes, allowing them to escape action being taken.
I want those loopholes closed and the ability to make them liable and that appears to be the direction that things are going, and that does need doing at a Government level.

Theft of copyright and Freedom of Speech are two very different things and shouldn't be clumped together.

You should go after the companies that profit from your product without cutting you in but if it were me I'd contact those companies and rather than drive them out of business I'd use them as another revenue stream - why the fuck not? Piracy isn't just about the facilitators - they are in existence because there is demand for their services. Legislation will never completely remove man's instinct to get things for little or nothing so you are in a losing battle. By appealing to government you get SOPA - and yes I agree that copyright law and freedom of speech are different, however, the line is blurred enough for the politicians and the large corporations to be tempted to ignore it completely. You and your industry need to be more creative in dealing with the problem

Lol. That was a good one :dancing:

I thought so........but I wonder with Dong being such a badass if the Gs walk to the other side when he trolls Jarvis.....and more importantly how do the folk on Church feel about his use of the word faggot!

Nice thoughts but you've answered your own suggestion. People always want something for free and those companies don't need to cut us in, they were making money without us (apart from using our content).

I think my company has been very creative in 2011 dealing with this issue and it's working for us. When I look at our ratios compared to competitors we've increased that gap and when I look at revenue streams that we've brought in because of the piracy, then it's two-fold, less pirates and making some money from those who have stolen.

I don't believe it will ever be closed off completely but when it's made to be more difficult and time consuming for people to pirate, rather than just join a site then the playing fields will have been levelled, at the minute they not (although it's improving).

.....so if you've had success against the pirates resulting in net positive revenue why agitate for legislation? You realize that it will - deliberately or not - negatively impact the internet for everyone for ever, right? I still see the solution to the issue to be technology-based and more work should be done by the developers of the file formats and players to secure IP. Whatever happened to the rights management tools that Microsoft had built in to WMP? Are others doing the same?

Legislation doesn't need to be negatively impacted if a proper DMCA/copyright law is put into place. I don't see how protecting an individuals property affects anybody other than those pirating content whatsoever. As I've stated I'd rather not spend my time chasing piracy and theft and concentrate on the production and marketing side of things.

MS's DRM (and other DRM's) haven't had great results. Hard (and costly or time consuming) to implement and didn't work well on some computers.

We're a small company, we're keeping our head above water doing what we need to, although I have a voice (albeit small one) within the industry that sort of technology would more likely come from mainstream studios.

OK. Help me out here. I still don't understand MegaUpload's Business Model. I don't see how they can make money? I've downloaded my share of porn before but mostly from Rapidshare but I've never clicked on any of their advertisement or purchased any of their products. When I click, I usually go take a bath or go to bed and when I return, everything is there. If anyone, it's the internet provider that gets my money.

Hey Seanchai, Can you provide some clarification to that? I've read elsewhere on the forum that what distinguish you from the rest of us is that your business smartness enable you to drive a Jaguar while the rest of us don't come close. So that's not really a business that's keeping it's head above water.

Megauploads business model is the same as Rapidshare. You are a leech on the system, the worst type of user. You take a bath and are content to wait for your download. Lots' of people aren't and so they pay for a premium upgrade to get dedicated faster downloads. They pay usually in blocks of time ... day/week/month, etc. That is where the revenue comes from.

Grooby Productions is a seperate entity to myself.

Can anyone confirm:

Also:
Swizz Beatz (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swizz_Beatz) ("Swizz Beatz") (CEO)

He is married to Contemporary R&B superstar Alicia Keys and has one child with her, as well as three other children. He is the Chief Executive Officer of Megaupload although this is now disputed and may be a rumor.

I guess there's no accounting for taste.
