She had a way of taking you on an emotional journey in a song with her voice, her attitude, and her passion. And as a rapt listener, I followed her journey with joy and at times childish focus. You could lose yourself while listening to Etta preach, and her live albums showed her sexual persona and charm. I miss her, loved her like a sister, and wish I could "Tell Mama" all about it (though she did not like the connotations of the word "Mama")
