I dont think she is talking about what you girls make, I think she is talking about the name of the awards, I also think it could be something more classy, it doesnt have to be "lady" award but there are other options to the word tranny, maybe for guys or some girls they dont care at all and thats perfectly fine, but some do care. Personally I am in between, sometimes I care and sometimes I don't. Today I would prefer to say to someone I am going to the "Transsexual Porn Awards" or Trans-Academy Awards" rather than the "tranny awards".

I love how Gia Darling put it once several years ago: "Labels are for luggage." Terms can be so harsh or vague or inappropos in many ways. I've even noticed some TS sites promoting "Shewomen"--WTF?! I think you have to separate the industry from the rest of the TG spectrum. After all, the Tranny Awards are industry awards, and given that, I think Grooby has been very supportive of the community within that context.

I kinda cringe when I hear the term "Tranny"... Even 'TS, Shemale & Transsexual' sound kinda derogatory to me.

I personally prefer 'TGirl' or 'Transgender Female' when I describe my gender.

Then again, these awards aren't about me or what I prefer lol. So, congrats to all of the TGirls nominated!

I usually call them the T Awards: covers Tranny, Transsexual, TGirl, etc. Even my own niche, Transpinay (better known as Filipina Ladyboys, but again, the Transpinay name is not derogatory). The name, imho, is appropriate for the industry, which is what the awards celebrate.

None of them are terms I find flattering but hey if your in the adult biz expect the adult jargon.. especially if your just a lil cow grazing in someone elses field. Now if you move on and make your own little field then you can call it whatever the hell you like and see if many other little cows come moo'ing with you.

(New York, NY) New York’s infamous Tranny Strip and celebrated promoter John Ed, along with his entire staff, are heading west to throw the 4th Annual Tranny Awards Celebration Party on Monday, February 20th at Club Voyeur in West Hollywood, the longtime location of the legendary Club Peanuts. Hosted by Tranny Award nominees Morgan Bailey and Domino Presley, and VIP Eros Model Jennifer Paris, the red carpet will start at 9pm and the party will go until 2am. Featuring more than 20 t-girl dancers, a private champagne room for lap dances, music from DJ Chelsea Malone and surprise mainstream celebrity guests, this event is not to be missed. Club goers can meet all the nominees, presenters and winners from the Tranny Awards taking place the night before.
