I had my first experience with a TS a couple of weeks ago and I just wanted some advice. I'm probably being paranoid but I heard that a reasonably high proportion of TS escorts globally have HIV, one source said around 1 in 3.

I basically had unprotected oral sex (both me giving and receiving the oral sex) with the escort as well as french kissing. No penetrative sex at all. I just wandered if its worth me getting a check for HIV? Any advice would be welcome

Is it worth getting checked for HIV ?

Yes, if you are infected with the virus and go untreated your lifespan is anywhere from 5-15 years on average from the date of contraction

If you go treated you have the possibility to live a normal life and live well into your 60s possibly 70s if you remain healthy.

I had been with many escorts at one point, always protected, but there came a point where it was diligent to be tested.

Thankfully it was negative and I haven't been with an escort since but just the prospect of being so was a huge burden, whether you're aware of it or not it will weigh down on you and everything you do.

Protect and survive! The risk from oral sex re HIV is very low - though all kinds of other lovelies can be gotten that way. The risk of HIV from unprotected anal sex is very high. From kissing/? Well you might get a cold or even cold sores if you are really unlucky. But you might get that on a date.

For unprotected anal it is riskier to be the passive partner - though dangerous for both.

But for anal sex always cover up. That way you are pretty much safe.

There seems to be so much contradicting information on what is safe and what is not and in many places owo is considered rather risky. I have never caught anything with owo and normally do not kiss with TGs but do kiss a lot with GGs.

I think one should always be very careful if you are a regular visitor to escorts. Certainly protected sex. If the girls hygiene does not seem great also avoid kissing and owo.

A good visual inspection is also useful.

if the hygiene is no good I would tend to leave

You are just being paranoid. It's nearly impossible to get HIV through oral. It has probably never happened in the history of the world. Next time if you do penetration and the condom breaks get tested the next day, not a couple weeks. But there's less risk if you're the top.

Why not? You'll feel when better when it comes back negative.
Good luck.

Next day? I believe it wouldn't show up on a test the following day. You have to give it some time.

It's recommended that you take antivirals within 24 to 48 hours after possible exposure as a prophilaxis, but testing will take place 3 months and then six months after exposure. You will also be asked to refrain from sex (at best), or have only safe encounters (at least) during that period.

I keep up with all available information ever since my dumbass nephew tested poz when he was jail.
