Exactly. Just started reading an interesting book by Derrick Jensen. And he speculated the reason the "owners" to quote Carlin -- :) switched/shifted from chattel slavery to wage slavery was because it was cheaper. Remember slave-owners had to house, feed and clothe the slaves. Under conditions of wage slavery (our present condition) the "owners" don't have to do that.
And Abraham Lincoln didn't see that much difference between chattel slavery and wage slavery. He said the slight difference was that chattel slavery was permanent. (The position of the Republican Party, under Lincoln, was to get rid of outright slavery. Both chattel and wage. Hmmm... what's happened to that Party -- ha ha ha! Well, the Republican Party is a Party -- if you can even call it a political party anymore -- that serves, placates and defends the interests of the ultra rich. Nothing more. Nothing less.)

Cynicism like this can be amusing and Carlin is well-known for his ability with patter -so his advice is not to go to college, not send your children to college, because you and your children will merely join a production line of zombies who protect and serve the 'Big Club'. But it is this nihilism that protects and serves the club, it is this nihilism that hands over citizen's rights to 'the state'. Why isn't Carlin calling for more education? Is there some indoctrination going on in Stanford, Harvard, UCLA, Northwestern that is producing what other Americans claim are anti-American lefties? Sounds like a contradiction to me, but thats because it is, and that is George Carlin -an amusing dead end; the antithesis of freedom.

I think I've heard that speech before, in fact it may have been plagiarized from Carlin. It was down near Wall Street in some sort of campground. I wish I knew they were stealing Carlin's material...I would have confronted them. lol
