And more and more of them are de-transitioning. Between them and the CD/TV's who swear they're TS, how do we tell the difference anymore? :?

Trendy? I don't think so. If anything there's just less stigma attached to being transgender nowadays. Look at the media exposure - RuPaul's Drag Race, Candis Cayne on Dirty Sexy Money (I think?), Chaz Bono - hella high profile FtM. Transgender politicians in Australia and Italy. We're not getting the whack-a-mole treatment when we show our faces in public now, so there's less fear.

I don't get the whole de-transitioning thing though, that's just sad. It kind of highlights the importance of counseling, waiting periods, etc. It's either feast or famine - we want surgery on demand, access to medications, etc. until it turns out that "hey whoa, wtf was I thinking?" and then it's what? Just a phase? Attention-seeking?

I knew a guy who positioned himself as a gentleman of the evenin, made a few dollars. Got dolled up in women clothes, started advertising as a girl made a lot more money. Still a guy though not a TS.

I get that.....even without browsing 4chan. And I also get that outside of these little corners of society like HA the term "Transexual" is probably misused more than any other. I guess I can understand some resentment over that, because it's not easily attaineed...but if the guy wants to feel like a girl for 8 hours a day.....so what? It's not my thing, it's not your thing, but I don't see this as an either or scenario. You're a woman....you must have lots of self confidence to have made the transition, so why let couple of pretty boys actin' fem laying claim to being a girl bother you? I certainly don't confuse them with you. I've had this conversation with Kelly, Nicole, Bella and several others, and I think I understand where you're coming from, but maybe you should be flattered instead of insulted.

We in this forum know, for the most part, whats going on and don't have that ignorant viewpoint. Most people "out there" probably don't care what the differences are, or what transitioning is vs dressing, etc.

I understand completely...but people sterotype and generalize all sorts of behavior and lifestyles....political , sexual, racial, social....that doesn't make it right, but all you have to do is scroll through a few threads here on HA to verify what I'm saying. You can only change those things you can control yourself....While Amy has every right to be annoyed....unfortunately it ain't gonna change, bcause as you correctly point out....99 % of society can not discern the difference....but then again Amy seems to be where so many others would like to get, so my point was....take some comfort in that.

None of my clients feel cheated. In fact, most of them are delighted to see me. I have just raised my rate...and nobody complains so far.
Ask Prospero, Ed_Jaxon, DianeCD, Newyorkburbs, and several members on this forums alone...not too mention thousands of members outside this forums. All are happy.

On the side note, i don't mind to be called CD or TV...or whatever. I'm still an underdog...and always have the feel and urge to protect those who are the minority or less popular

I think being a ts is becoming trendy. I even saw a display at Macy's on their new line of clothes for becoming the trendy TS, although I believe Trash in the Village had that style years ago.

In the escort scene there are certainly scores of South American men (gay/bi) who happily cross dress to make money. I doubt many of them have any real interest in being a TV/TS or simply cross dressing.
