Does anyone else live in a major city where there isn't ONE rock station on their FM dial? The closest we come is 89.5 WSOU Seton Halls Pirate Radio, but good luck getting that if your in north NY.

We used to have KNAC in LA. Everything turned to shit on the radio dial when they stopped.

I could understand with Satelitte radios and Internet radios, that some music wouldn't be as mainstream anymore but CHRIST, to completely dissolve any new rock is just a sad reflection of how SHITTY music has won over Shitty ppl.

Totally agree. What's the place coming to when New Yorkers and Angelenos can't find any decent Metal on the radio dial?

That is why I listen to radio online. You can get almost any station inthe USA and some forgein ones on line. Try http://tunein.com/radio/KEXP-FM-903-s32537/
It is the best station around for ner and indie music. Broke most of the great bands fromthe Northwest

Niche radio suckss. There was more variety on the airwaves before FM, & a whole lot more when the early FM non-musak stations first came on. On line radio gives you more niches to pick from, but I'm not on line on the road. I'm not impressed with the sattelite shit either. I want variety, not top 40 in the particular niche. I like high intensity jazz rock fusion. Where's my fucking niche? Fuck the niche. Where's the music anywhere, even just now & then? There's jazz niches. But there's a whole lot of music that's been made sbetween the big band era & Kenny G. I like all that too, but c'mon! I also like C&W, hip-hop, metal, pop, classical, oldies, R&B, Broadway show tunes, & other stuff. I don't want any "genre" all the time. I also don't want some bean counter with a software app & an algorythm deciding what I want.

Okay, rant over. For now. Gorra let the palpitations caom down.

LA has nothing these days. Indie 103.1 was named best radio station in America and it promptly went off the air. Still online, though, and streaming through iTunes.

Hippi- still listening to KOST?
