I'm not super familiar with some of those albums to be honest. But I was just walking around with, I think it's called "eraserhead" in my head today, so I'm going with that. And an album of punk rock covers, I wouldn't really throw in as a Slayer album. It just seems off to me to do it.

Same Here Dino, Divine Intervention is just a tad better than God Hates us All, closely followed by diabolus in musica. World Painted Blood and Christ Illusion are just kind of standard Slayer.

As far as Pre-Seasons in the Abyss...

I feel Reign in blood is overhyped and overrated (although i think it's a fine album) and actually think South Of Heaven and Hell Awaits are superior releases.

Reign in Blood gets that 'album of the century' thing all the time undeservedly. IMHO.

To Me:
South of Heaven> Hell Awaits> Seasons> Reign In Blood> Divine Intervention>Show No Mercy> Haunting The Chapel> God Hates us All> Diabolus> Christ Illusion> World Painted Blood.

Definitely for me, Older Slayer is better than their most recent stuff. For the record , I LOVE ALL of Slayer's albums. except Undisputed Attitude (I don't consider that one a proper a slayer album, nor Decade of Aggression)

Tiffany liking metal... that's soooooo hot!

Thanks for jumping in. I remember recently having that good Motorhead/Venom discussion where we discussed Black Metal(First Wave and Beyond) too.

Reign In Blood is like a short sprint of carnage. I'll always love it. It was brutal in '86 and I still crank it 25 years later.

That's cool....maybe it will lead me to getting fucked in the ass more often and more big cocks in my mouth:praying:

Nothing wrong with Tom being Catholic, same thing with Mustaine being born again. They still have the rage, which is more than I can say for the guys in Metallica.

I wasn't ever huge into Slayer other than a handful of songs until I saw them live for the second time. Their sound guy was fucking amazing that day and every low end note felt like it was trying to shatter your skull. I was a good 200 feet or more from the stage and every blast of double bass would shake my sinus cavity so hard that my vision would blur.

It was at that moment that I became a lifelong fan of anything produced by Slayer.

Are you into any Black Metal? I've been really getting into it the last few years. I was looking for something new to listen to in addition to the Thrash/Death Metal and the NWOBHM.

Always like this chart.

Obviously you didn't make this chart but anything that deals with Meta and lists Limp Bizkit cannot be taken seriously.

Here are a few samples of what I enjoy ruining my hearing with regularly. There are scores more but this should get the point across as to what I consider good music.

I like to think that Slayer and Morbid Angel are very similar.

They both have their 'classic' era, it is 1983-1990-ish For Slayer, and For Morbid it is 1989-1995.

I like the post David Vincent stuff as well, and I like the post Dave lombardo stuff as well, although i think the 2 newest ones with Lombardo are amongst their weakest.

Same for Morbid Angel, i rather listen to Gateways or Formulas than that turd called Illud Divinum Insanus with David Vincent.

Both bands get their 'classic' lineups back, and put out their worst albums, go figure lol

Ozzy is nothing more than Sharon's puppet show at this point. Does anyone really think Ozzy was like "Fuck me, I'm bored. I guess I will write few books, do a signing tour and well... I wonder how me mates are doin. Maybe they want to get together and jam a bit."

I have seen Ozzy live six times and I even saw Sabbath when they did Ozzfest. I was hue fan but the stuff he puts out these days just sucks. It is more like metal ramblings of changed man who loves his fans, family and god. It isn't the middle finger salute that once used to be so I can't even begin to fathom spending money on this new scheme to try and live out one more part of a career that should have ended ten years ago.

I got to see OzzFest 98 with the original Black Sabbath, and I must say that was definitely it for me. They were part of my 'must see this band' list, before they or I , die. lol

There's a reason, why Tony Iommi and Geezer decided to do Heaven and Hell instead of Black Sabbath. It probably has to do with Sharon, Ozzy's ego, and alot of backstabbing . If Dio were still alive, I'm sure Black Sabbath would've never gotten together ever again.

Personally, I'm not going out of my way to see them, but I know alot of people that are.

Sharon drags a corpse along like it's Weekend At Ozzy's. At least Dio went out with class with everybody wanting more. I'll always respect Ronnie.

I prefer Dio Sabbath, personally. And I got to see Heaven and Hell back in 07, so that was one of my favorite concerts ever. I too young to see them during the Heaven and Hell, Mob Rules era, and still too young for Dehumanizer.

Love Ozzy Sabbath, I just think Dio Sabbath is the better group, musically and vocally of the 2. Ozzy Sabbath is considered more 'classic' and has some all time classics. But on a musical basis, the stuff with Dio is superior IMHO.

Yes, Ozzy sued the pants off of them saying that his unique vocals is what made Sabbath famous. So to keep moving forward they hanged the name to Heaven and Hell. I think the case was resolved out of court if I remember correctly.

Well I think that the 'body of work' done by the Ozzy led Sabbath was more remarkable than the Dio led Sabbath - yet the Dio Sabbath seemed to have more catchy tunes (for what it's worth).

Somewhere out there there is a recording of me singing "Take This Job (and Shove It)" by Johnny Paycheck when I was a really really young.

I grew up on some Country Music too. I have most always been a Metalhead but every once in awhile I like some Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, George Jones, Merle Haggard, or David Allan Coe.

Wow. World Painted Blood continues to be extremely underrated by Slayer fans. I would vote for Divine Intervention as the 2nd best CD after Seasons, certainly the best of the records without Dave Lombardo on drums.

A lot people don't like World Painted Blood because it isn't the traditional Slayer everyone loves but it is a sold album. Unlike the asshats in Metallica who tried to vary their sound, Slayer did it the right way. Yes some of the older stuff is harder and faster but bands don't, and shouldn't, make the same album every single time.

Exactly, everyone expects "Reign In blood" again.

Everyone expects "Master of Puppets" again.I liked Death Magnetic, actually. I thought it was enough of their past, with some of their other influences in there. I love that album, but I guess people want them to make master of puppets forever.

For the record, I only made my 'favorites' list of Slayer because comparing them side to side, I like some, more than others.

That, however doesn't mean, that I think South of Heaven absolutely mops the floor with World Painted Blood. It's comparing a really good album with another really good album. Only iffy album for me is Undisputed Attitude.

I actually think God Hates Us All is the best after Seasons. All the songs are really catchy, they are what I imagine theme songs to be for sitcoms in hell.

The problem with Slayer's later stuff is it's too much Kerry King and not enough Jeff Hanneman. It still kicks ass but I've always preferred Jeff's contributions to Kerry's. I like Undisputed Attitude too and wish they'd do another album covering old hardcore tunes.
