I can't think of a better example of the current condition of today's Liberal Democratic Party. Shilling a jobs plan that has no chance of passing , and no hope of working to 4th graders, and using inner city black kids as props in the process. Not only is it despicable, it's dishonest. So let's say that the plan as constructed was to pass and York PA could hire 20 teachers. The unemployment rate in that city is 12% !!! Say what Joe....no plan for brick layers, carpenters, bus drivers, auto salesmen, clerks, cooks, factory workers, etc? This is why this entire jobs plan is a joke. We've lost 1.6 million jobs since Obama too office and they're out there selling a plan to hire a few teachers????? It's laughable. Teachers are important to be sure, but we need 250-300,000 jobs per month to begin to dig out of this recession. Hiring some teachers and a few cops and calling it a jobs plan is like the Dutch boy with his finger trying to hold back the bursting levy. Since the administration will never quite grasp the concept that a central government cannot create anywhere near enough jobs needed to fuel this diverse economy , they're doomed to chronic, continued failure. Sad to be sure...so here's some levity of ole Joe dealing with his piers. Fast forward to the one minute mark ..............

You have a point when you say a central government cannot create anywhere near enough jobs needed to fuel this diverse economy; but it begs the question: why are American capitalists not investing in their own economy, creating those jobs you need so badly? After years of de-regulation you can't blame it on government agencies and the costs to businesses of meeting non-commercial stipulations -it was not a barrier in the past to the creation of new business -we are in a recession, and it looks like its going to be a long one. I am sure you and your Republican peers will nevertheless find some toxic solutions if your guy -or your gal- enters the White House in 2013...(sorry, but I couldn't resist it given the schoolroom in your link)...

Education should be block granted to the states. Disband the department of education. The federal government has taken the finest education system in the world and made it completely inept. They don't belong in the business, we need to judge performance of our government no differently than private business. We need results. Postal Service anyone?

The postal service is going down mainly due to the internet. Why mail a letter when you can email? My mail a check when you can do electronic pay. It's the same reason why the print media will soon be gone. No matter how well somebody runs a business, technology can kill you.
