Well, this video goes back to 1986...maybe Hughes was trying to capture the success David Coverdale was having, using that same look with Whitesnake at the time.

To his credit though, other than his hair having that "blow dry" look, Iommi still doesn't show any expression on his face (though his eyes scream "What the fuck am I doing here"?!)...
