I'm off to Prague soon for the first time.
Does anyone have any tips for the city?

I'm looking for:

1. Great restaurant/s whether they be top end places - or holes in the wall doing local specialities.
2. Bars/Breweries.

I'm not really into the nightclub, sex club scene - more just looking for cool places to hangout and see what's going on. Live music is always cool though.

Any other tips?

Lots of good music - goo classical concerts in churches etc. But the star is the city itself. It's gothic heart is wonderful. You might want to go see the Black Theatre of prague (puppet show) which is really quite wonderful. Also there is a Jan Svankmajer museum which is terrific. He is the Czech animator who did a brilliantly black version of Alice in Wonderland in the 1980s and lots of other bizarre animated films.

They are CHEAP compared to UK rices fr major dental repair work (implants and the like).

True Jericho.... and for that I'd head East. But for implants, especially in your lower jaw where if they get it wrong you can have serious pain for your whole life, I'd pay extra to see the top guys - in the UK or US. It just isn't worth the gamble IMHO
But I doubt that Seanchai is going to Prague for his dentistry. A porn magnate like him could afford the best harley Street has to offer.

I had *major* dental work in the LOS (talking a bit more than three grand), never had a problem with it

I rarely get to Brasil but once every two years now and it's all biz. If you've been around since the old days, it's completely different. Luiz, Frank and I, sit around smoking cigars, drinking caprinhas and getting out into the backwoods of Brasil.

I get that. Yes, it touristic and always crowded but the beer is good and it's usually a fun time. A good restaurant is David in Mala Strana (near the police station).

There is a nightclub somewhere near Wenceslas Square, you may have to google to find out, and be warned it might be one of those that appears on one night a week, and also that there is a lot of ripping off in Prague night-clubs, and we are not talking trousers.

Side note -there is an excellent value restaurant just off the city centre, you will save up to 50% on your meal compared to the more central areas. It is called Stara Praha and is reviewed here:
