Yo Yo Ma is plays on this version also. The backstory/exposition of the original George Harrision written song is also very interesting.

One of my favorite bands, The Feelies, are known for a couple of Beatles covers, especially "Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except Me and My Monkey," which appeared on their first album, Crazy Rhythms, in 1980. They covered "She Said She Said" on the No One Knows EP in 1986. Here are live versions from shows they did this summer at Maxwell's in Hoboken, NJ, their home turf.

The best rendition of While My Guitar Gently Weeps was done with Tom Petty and Prince. The guitar solo at the end is some mind blowing devastating shit.

Didn't Elton John do a great cover of Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds with Lennon doing background? IIRC, John never was satisfied with the Beatle's version due to production contrainsts and this was an opportunity to get it right. I also remember Elton John him doing a cover of the Who's Pinball Wizard that at the time was acclaimed to be way better then the original. So much so, that the Who not only rearranged the song for Elton, they preferred to let him use his own band and people to cut and perfrom it.

Helvis dont think the Dead ever covered Dear Prudence but it was i regular rotation with his side band Jerry Garcia Band. As someone whom had seen over 200 GD shows and 60 JGB shows and miss them both dearly. Give me JGB over the GD he was just so soulful with JGB. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JqFJ-bRKJr4

As for a great Beatles song that the boys covered I always loved Rain I think this is my favorite Beatles tune that they covered and I think they covered probably about 20 or so throughout the years. Jerry and the boys just idolized the Beatles http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBNFG-NZW5o&feature=related

and of course being a Deadhead how can you not love the boys doing Day Tripper

For me the Grateful Dead covering anything is like it being encased in slow drying cement - with all life drowned from it. I guess with the aid of some good acid the dead might have sounded good... but (and i know I will now be showered with shit by Deadheads) for me the only good stuff they ever did were the structured songs on American Beauty and the abum that preceded it -in particular Uncle john's band). So smothering the beatles is a better phrase than covering.
