Steve Jobs, founder of Apple quits due to Health issues.

Rumour has it that he is HIV positive. Does anyone know if this is true?

It could explain the dramatic weight loss.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/apple/8721635/Steve-Jobs-resigns-as-Apple-CEO-live.html

http://giveupinternet.com/2009/01/15/does-steve-jobs-has-hiv-the-reason-behind-weight-loss-rumor/

WikiLeaks - Steve Jobs has the HIV - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xV8TzmRsfW4)

Very sad news if true, and just goes to show that anyone, however wealthy, can get infected with HIV virus.

ANOTHER reason NEVER to do BARE-BACK folks, whether they tell you they have CERTS or not.

Just too damn risky to play with life (or death)

There are so many antiviral medicines out there, if you live in a land with good healthcare or are rich enough (i guess he is..) HIV is not a death sentence anymore. The virus can be reduced till he is not detectable anymore.

he had cancer before, had a liver transplant not to long ago and it seems that the cancer is back. HIV would be the less of his health issues.

"Stay hungry, stay foolish."

A good message from Mr Jobs... he deserves comfort and succour now as whatever illness he has forces him into a premature retirement. Is he HIV positive? Does it matter to anyone but him and his family. I don't think so Let's give him some respect.

Apple not only make the best computers (this is being written on one) but have given millions of us great pleasure with our ipods, iphones, ipads... and we hope mr J has a long enough life left to see his dreamchild continue to innovate and give us high tech toys.

:iagree: And Giovanni too. This kind of speculation is tasteless.

I've always been an Apple freak and have used nothing but their computers since the early 90s. I too hope he makes a satisfactory recovery and can continue to have a positive influence over his brainchild.

He's to remain as chairman of the board, just not CEO.

As far as I was aware the poor guy has cancer and probably not long left. Despite this he has worked up till the end and his dedication to Apple has been outstanding.

I know that the usa do not have knighthoods like the UK but I hope they will somehow give Steve Jobs an honour or award that is fitting to such a brave individual

My heart goes out to him and his family

Pancreatic cancer is a death sentence. It is very painful and fatal because it is so difficult to detect.

Two photos, purporting to be part of Apple CEO Steven P. Jobs medical file, show a HIV positive status. The two photos have been spread over email, and appeared in a number of Internet publications, including CNN's "ireport", which previously released a false death report for Mr. Jobs.
The results by HIV testing company SxCheck (http://www.wikileaks.ch/wiki/Special:Jump/aHR0cDovL3d3dy5zeGNoZWNrLmNvbQ==) are dated 1 Sep 2004. Though SxCheck's website did not launch until 2006[1] (http://www.wikileaks.ch/wiki/Steve_Jobs_purported_HIV_medical_status_results,_2 008#_note-0), its parent company Adult Industry Medical Health Care Foundation has existed since the 1980s[2] (http://www.wikileaks.ch/wiki/Steve_Jobs_purported_HIV_medical_status_results,_2 008#_note-1). It is thus plausible that the results are a re-issue of earlier tests associated with its parent company. SxCheck's website advertises "decades of experience"[3] (http://www.wikileaks.ch/wiki/Steve_Jobs_purported_HIV_medical_status_results,_2 008#_note-2).
If Steve Jobs did have HIV, it is possible that his pancreatic cancer was a Kaposi's sarcoma, which are noted to emulate pancreatic cancer in HIV-positive patients[4] (http://www.wikileaks.ch/wiki/Steve_Jobs_purported_HIV_medical_status_results,_2 008#_note-3). Steve Jobs also follows a diet occasionally recommended to AIDS patients as an alternative therapy[5] (http://www.wikileaks.ch/wiki/Steve_Jobs_purported_HIV_medical_status_results,_2 008#_note-4).
A close inspection of the second image reveals that Mr. Jobs personal details are slightly misaligned and do not follow the perspective of the surrounding text. "Born" in the "Birth date" field is also unusual, although not by itself a key signature of fabrication.
The social security number, on the other hand, is of a valid structure and was issued in California, although it is unknown if it is Mr. Jobs.
As Apple, Inc's stock price depends in part on the health of Mr. Jobs, stock speculators are motivated to introduce information critical of Mr. Jobs health.

Due to the contradictory dates, possible evidence of forgery, strong motivations for fabrication, and few motivations for a legitimate revelation, the images should not be taken at face value.

If he had AIDS or HIV he'd actually be ok, the fact is he has Pancreatic cancer and unfortunately it's one of the most aggressive forms of the disease and no matter how much money you have in the bank, chances are it's gonna be terminal and painful.

I find that intrusive to a degree that I dont want to know. I also wonder why the stock price fell -it suggests some investors so closely associate Jobs with Apple that they can't see a future for the company without him, even though it is the core staff who actually do the 'spade-work' that creates the multiples apps that Apple hard and software can do. If he died of a heart attack tonight, is Apple's future in doubt tomorrow? I don't think so.

He has been a pioneer, let him rest on a sound reputation and be remembered for his achievements, and hope he lives a lot longer. But I do think someone should buy him a shirt.

What goes up must come down, with regards to stock prices, well that can be applied to a lot of things. Including a penis.

Pancreatic cancer is essentially a death sentence. Almost nobody survives it. If it is indeed pancreatic cancer, he probably has about 6 months or less to live.

Being HIV+ (not full blown AIDS) would be much better than having pancreatic cancer.

I thought there was medication now for AIDS or is it just HIV?

AIDS is not a disease. The term AIDS stands for "Acquired Immune Defficiency Syndrome".

HIV is the virus that breaks down your immune system, which leads to the above condition.

You don't die from AIDS, you die from a condition that having a low or non existent immune system creates.

My best friend died from an AIDS related condition 3 years ago which is why I am so passionate about educating people on the subject. He died a long and slow painful death, even tho he was on many anti-retro-viral combination drugs.

And another reason I only now use toys in my work.

He has pancreatic cancer. Not too long ago, he had a liver transplant. All well covered in the Silicon Valley press. Almost any time there is a leadership change at a company, especially where the leader of the company is so tied to the image of the company, the stock takes a hit. Having watched people close to me die of cancer, it isn't a great way to go. How does this stuff get started?

AIDS/HIV/CANCER/FLU/HEART DISEASE who the fuck cares what illness takes you or anyone else out. Is there some special wonderful illness that produces an incredibly enjoyable death? If so - I still don't want it - but I'll wish for all of you who carry on with this stupidity (when you time comes of course).

But if you do Bare-back.... you gonna get AIDS eventually, and thats the end of your life.

If you do bare-back and produce porn pics and vids showing that its cool to do so, then you are the biggest fool on the planet.

Oh... and the 1st sign of HIV infection is premature ageing and weight loss, especially in the face

Simple as that.

No. Pancreatic cancer.
We desperately need to find a cure. It has affected pretty much every single family.
My own grandmother passed away from this insidious disease.
Why don't we shift some of the inordinate billions we spend on the military to find a cure....
