I can't say I revel in the unwinding of a guy's life no matter what party he's from, but what I do enjoy pointing out to libs is that contrary to what they believe, they don't have the corner on the morality market...although they do look down at every one who dares to disagree with them from thier lofty moral perch. It's just a longer fall from there ! It's not that they disagree with others, it's the methods they use to voice and deliver that disagreement...So in dishonor of that, here's today's democrat poster boy.

A powerful South Jersey Democrat, who allegedly took nude pictures of himself and emailed them to a Chicago woman he had never met, resigned today.
The naked photos of Louis N. Magazzu, 53, a Cumberland County Freeholder, had been posted on a website created by an opponent. Carl B. Johnson, of Millville, put the pictures up on magazzuwatch.com last month.
Shortly after, Magazzu was confronted by Freeholder Director, Bill Whelan, also a Democrat.
"I asked Mr. Maggazu to step down three weeks ago," Whelan said. "At the time he said 'no.'
"Now that he has, I'm relived for the people of Cumberland County. I hope we can put all this behind us."

Magazzu, who until recently had served as chairman of the county Democratic Party, hired an attorney this week in an effort to have the pictures removed.
This afternoon, Magazzu announced he would relinquish his position. A spokeswoman for the Freeholders confirmed that her office received a letter of resignation about 3:15 p.m.
In a statement Magazzu wrote:
". . .[I]n my personal life, I did not always demonstrate the wisdom and balance that I expected from myself, and that the people of Cumberland County deserve and have every right to expect.
"As a consequence, a woman who I have never met personally, but have corresponded with on the Internet for several years, has recently shared some photographs which she requested and that were intended only for her eyes. I did not know that she was working with an avowed political enemy to distribute these pictures."
Magazzu said his attorney, a former federal prosecutor, would try to determine if laws had been broken by the unauthorized distribution of the pictures.
Johnson, a Republican activist, told The Associated Press that he was happy Magazzu was leaving office and that he would consider taking down the photos.
"He should have stepped down a long time ago for many reasons. His brand of politics is harmful to the entire political process," Johnson said, adding: "I'm sorry it had to happen this way."
Johnson said he started his website three years ago after a dispute with Magazzu over claims about property taxes. Johnson decided to post the photos because Magazzu had brought up Johnson's family and back child support payments during their squabble, he said.
The father of five children, Magazzu said no government services or devices were used to take or transmit the pictures to the woman.
Magazzu was first elected Freeholder in 1997. His current term was to have expired in December 2012. He served as Chair of the Dept. of Public Safety and was a member of the Dept. of Agriculture and Dept. of Public Works.

I think Sean Connery looked ok without his shirt on when he was in his 50s, but as a general rule, you have to wonder at the size of a 50-something man's...ego...in this case. You also have to wonder at the intelligence of a man who sends nude photos of himself to someone he has never met. On that basis alone he was unfit for office. One of the leading 'campaigners' against Murdoch in the UK, a Labour MP called Chris Bryant posted photos of himself in his underwear on the Gaydar UK site, he was 'outed' by the Murdoch press; he also fiddled his expenses claims to something in excess of £90,000 - yet he continues to sit in the Commons, for reasons unknown to me; although his annual salary £65, 738 a year could be a factor ($107,542 at todays exchange rate). Would political life be any different if he was not there? I can't work out how supposedly intelligent people who are savvy enough to use the internet haven't worked out yet that it dissolves the boundary between what is private and what is public.

Yet we still have hypocrites who constantly tell us they're Christian and support family values appearing anonymously on the internet to ogle porn, jerk off and, on the same site, to cast the first stones at absolutely any sinner as long as they're liberal. What a troll!

Trish you know well that Republicans are held to higher standards on these issues and most are guilty to the same degree as democracts are. It seems a Republican just has to be implied in a scandal to be asked to step down a Democract has to be caught RED HANDED with a dead hooker before they will even blink.

Republicans hold themselves to a higher standard (in theory anyway) because they advertise themselves as the values party. If you advertise yourself that way, I'm going to judge you accordingly. There's a difference between a sinner and a sinner who's a hypocrite.

The perception on this side of the pond is that neither party has any claim on morals.

Nor is any one side held by the general media to higher standards than another. Fox will jump on liberals and MSNBC will jump on conservatives. Whether someone resigns or not is of course not up to either network. Personally, I don't give a damn who a politician fucks or who he sexts as long as all involved are consenting adults (not the case with Mark Foley for example) and the participants aren't at the same time pushing a "morals" agenda (as Larry Craig [was]). I don't give a shit if Bob Allen wants to pay a male prostitute for a blow job. He's gay. [He's in the closet, and he has to pay for it.] So what? What gets my feathers ruffled is that he sponsored legislation to ban gays from adopting children.

Personally, I think this perception is way overblown. But even if it were accurate, the only reason would be the Republican insistance on claiming to be some sort of bogus moral authority.

This isn't about sex. It never is. There's no scandal without a lie. The only moral issue in adultry is breach of promise. The political reality is that one has to follow the rules they insist on for everybody else. The moral code is not religious or poitical. The universal code of human interaction is the "golden rule", & it always applies in mattters of "morality". That's the basis of all morals & ethics. If you can't relate it to that, it's not a moral issue. It's just somebody's arbitrary rule. The only real moral authority is your own conscience. The rest is just media pork.

Most stupid laws are just somebody saying "I don't want that so you can't have it.".

Since you're such an A-Number-One-Rocket-Scientist-Internet-Researcher, why don't you google us up some examples of "libs" claiming the corner on the morality market. Unless, that is, you're too busy erecting some more of those windmills to tilt at...

This is really a very simple concept that you, for some reason, refuse to understand. It’s not the sex, it’s the hypocrisy.

Of course, David Vitter is still a U.S. Senator, whereas Eliot Spitzer resigned the governorship of New York. Same crime, different outcomes. Vitter simply threw himself at the mercy of Jesus Christ, while Spitzer actually took some personal responsibility for his actions.

Despite your impression, I am unaware of any Republican politicians who have resigned in light of mere implication. Perhaps you could enlighten us with specific examples.

Wow,I just found out that the porn star who was involved in exchanging pictures with Rep. Weiner was from LaVergne,Tn.
This is the most important news in this state since Tee Martin led the U of Tennessee to a National Championship in 1998.
