But here's a better question: where are the most vulnerable, desperate transsexuals? They shoot for far less than those greedy American girls.

Fabulous city Seanchai - and some of the most beautiful girls in Europe. But I've not been there for a decade so recommendations are a bit useless. Stick to the Buda side - the side with the castle etc. (or is that the Pest side - see can't remember) Try the famous indoor hot baths. Drink Tokay.

I was there for a couple days in 2007. Granted not enough time to really see everything but it is beautiful. Highly recommend: http://www.artotels.com/budapest-hotel-hu-h-1011/hunbuart

Easy to walk from there to the walled city and near one of the bridges that cross to the Pest side. The main square/street which is on the Pest side is very nice but somewhat typical of European cities. If you're only there a few days you'll need it to see the castle and it's surroundings. Also take the cable car ride!

I havent been for a while, but it is a beautiful city.

Theres usually a nice independant ice cream trolley in the main streets, family owned, give them a go.

I always recommend http://www.fatalrestaurant.com/ to eat. I first went there in late 90s and 11 years of recommending gets me kudos. They used to have a various wings dish, which is mountains of different birds wings. Amazing presentation and will fill you up. Share it. http://www.fatalrestaurant.com/gfx/etlap/fatal_etlap_angol_02.pdf
I see its goose and chicken for about $26. Awesome....

Its quite sweet.

For something totally whacko, and very Hungarian, try the Agricultural Museum (set in a really crazy castle). Never have I witnessed a museum where they decided the world needed to see stuffed chickens, geese, cows, etc. Maddest place on the planet. Its as if they liked to stuff farm animals and just kept going... dogs, cats, shrews, badgers, fish, mice, insects. Yes... even frikkin insects .

Alas, I read too late this request. I went there some months ago. I liked very much the Mattia's Church and the Castle in the city park.
Bye!

Sorry, I'm too late as well. Used to visit there a lot from the early 90s onwards on business. One of the most beautiful cities in Europe, and you get a real sense of central Europe as the crossing point between east and west. Hope you managed to try the thermal baths, they're special.

When the weather's good it's a great place to linger over an excellent coffee at a pavement cafe and watch the world go by. Mind you, the first time I went there by train from Vienna, I enjoyed the glorious spectacle of Buda and Pest on their opposite sides as the train crossed the Danube, only to pass the biggest Tesco store I'd ever seen - not what I expected at all.

Oh, and I hope you managed to sample both the types of Tokay wine - the crisp dry white and the luscious sweet one, which to me tastes like liquid tarte tatin.

And it was an exciting GP as well, with a Brit on the podium again.

Thanks fellas - we had a great time, the baths were incredible and fixed me up, restaurants tip-top, bars really cool and we walked and saw a lot of the city. Truly a stunning city that I'd recommend anybody to go to!

and a Button win.
WIN:WIN!

That's the one I meant, Sean. Fabulous, isn't it?

And when I went there, full of enough lumpy and large Hungarian hausfraus to prevent that embarrassing forward bulge in the speedos lol!
