I think you're right about Yasmin. I personally would pick Hazel Tucker, just because she is my fav, and I certainly think she is a major contender. But, if I was a betting man, I would go with Bailey Jay, simply because she has a lot of momentum, regardless of people's opinions about her porn quality. What do you mean by not a lot of work? Bailey Jay mostly did photos and very cheap POV scenes. Yet, she won the AVN award based on her looks alone.

Look at Kimber James. In the past two years she has only made movies for her site and Devil's Films. I think in the last two years Yasmin has made more porn videos than Kimber James.

Foxxy, Amy Daly, and Jesse should have been nominated last year instead of Bailey Jay. If this is based on work then that would had happen.

Bailey won because she had a great publicist to keep AVN etc informed on her movies and career.

She also won because of her dvds with Joey Silver/Evil Angel. Plus any dvd she has been in has been in the top 100 etc.

Wendy has always told girls you need to keep the right people informed on your career.

Also Bailey went to the porn business parties and socialized. As well as Kimber did.

Girls hurt themselves in the end by not doing this.

You really need a good pr team to get you to win the award.

The people that vote don't watch the vids - they base it on your body of work..and if it's not right in front of their face they don't stand out.

My AVN award helped my career in many ways pertaining to getting alot of exposure (Presenting at AVN on Showtime, booked for Interviews, getting my toyline ETC)..so it does mean "fuck" but usually its the people who havent been nominated or won that say that.

It's fairly obvious to me from Wendy's successive posts that the award can lead to a fair amount of financial gain for the recipient and more importantly, on the social networking front, for the company that has the recipient under contract. So they're going to do whatever they can to make sure the performer in question attends the right parties and events and keep her face in front of the judges.

I think you're right that the best girls should win the awards and I'm rooting for Jesse Flores myself.
