Hello everyone. I just joined Transsexual Pin Ups and found out the site is currently only a stream site. SMC's solo site for Giselle is also stream only for videos.

I spoke with customer service about this. He told me that I should cancel since I want to download movies. He said that SMC may completely turn all of its sites into stream only. The reason behind this is piracy. The representative said that it is getting very out of hand.

What is going on in the transsexual porn industry with piracy? The straight porn companies are not making the change to stream only. The transsexual porn industry will completely suck if more companies such as Grooby follow route. It may do MAJOR harm to the industry. Stream only sites are very unpopular.

LOL! People do not like pay sites that are stream only. Every porn review on the internet STRONGLY criticizes a site that is stream only. I have never read anything positive about stream sites because all I have read are complaints because there are no downloads.

Here are the differences.

1. It's part of marketing. It's cheaper to buy porn and download it then buying the DVD. Plus porn DVD sales are down. This is to keep the customer happy.

2. Porn viewers want to own the content. This does no harm to the company. Plus sometimes huge straight sites can run into problems with thousands YES thousands of people trying to stream the same movie. This has happen to me a lot at Brazzers when I try to watch upcoming trailers.

Illegal content that is downloaded is normally done by hackers.

3. As stated it benfits companies. Consumers will keep coming back to pay for more porn.

I have taken some college courses about sex. I did research on online porn. You can also get discounts to porn memberships through review sites. Review sites tell you everything you need to know before joining such as current updates, closed sites, fraud sites, amount of content, ect. This is important to know before joining a site.

Your actions combined with others and the tube owners result in less porn being brought. Companies and girls are losing money while people like you get their content illegal for free.

Ok the jury is still out on whether to convert to full streaming models or not but there ARE mainstream sites doing it, so SMC certainly haven't done something out of line, they're just trying a different avenue to protect their content.

Within our company the argument for going to a streaming model gets presented to me by some of the staff weekly, it would certainly be easy enough to do, increase the streaming quality and allow people to watch all their porn on the sites. The reasons why we haven't any plans to do this on our current main sites, are for the ones cited by Franklin.

2. We believe most professional piracy of our sites are only done by a few people and that they would probably be able to get around the streaming issue, to download it anyway. It may detract the casual uploader but we don't expect that to stop our videos getting posted in places and having to DMCA them daily.

3. Streaming content is rarely as good quality as it is when downloaded and watched from your HD.

So although we don't have any plans at the moment as in my opinion, the cons outweigh the pros, if things did change in the future, then we may have to take a re-look at that model.

Everything being streamed is still being downloaded on the pc, it just takes a different approach as Seanchai said.

SMC is probably hoping that the people who keeps downloading their content and reuploading them on sharing websites that they dont know how to do it, and i doubt its gonna work anyway :P

I think SMC will make the issue worst. I think some consumers will stop paying and some of these people will start hacking into the site sooner or later. They may download the files illegally. They may face even more privacy than in the past. Thus SMC will lose money in this stupid plan.

I wouldn't mind a streaming site, but now that ATT Uverse and many other net companies and putting bandwidth caps on our internet, it would really suck to have to use up bandwidth streaming everything multiple times instead of downloading it once and playing it off your PC. Unless the streaming software does download it to your cache and re-plays it that way, forcing all streaming content upon customers who have bandwidth caps might not be such a good idea.

These caps SUCK. I don't think I could even upload all my clips/photos for my website and still be under cap every month. Thank god I am not in the position.

re streaming its a nice idea but some spotty twat from poland will still obtain and rip the file, whatever container it maybe streamed in, flv, mp4, wmv bla bla and it will get upped as per current piracy issues.

it is not the way to tackle pircy, just fight the good fight daily whilst lobbying for the DMCA to put more pressure on filesharing companies, to try get digital fingerprint software "forced " upon such companies would be much more useful imo (oh and more affordable such software for little fishies like me *swims around*)

Traffic is also depending on how new the site is for solo sites,,,,,if newer as in Sarina case then more traffic would come from affiliates ETC starting to promote the site however over time will settle to a more realistic number. However good traffic is the key when it comes to adult sites as those translate into signups.
