Giovanni, from what I know he's not gay. I agree he would not make a good transwoman, but what I'm curious about is whether anyone thinks part or all of his body shape is like a woman's or whether any of his specific physical features look like a woman's and what characteristics of those features make them look feminine. I realize that women come in all shapes and sizes, so I guess I'm asking with respect to features and shapes more typically associated with, or that look like, women('s). For example, I don't think his face or biceps look like a woman's so I don't think he'd make a good trans for that reason.

You are absolutely right, Natina, no study indicates that estrogens are changing the bone structure after puberty. But I still sometimes wander about it. There might be other reasons for it, but you do feel that after a while on hormones, the curves of the body changes a little. Of course, wearing high heels will create a curvier back, for instance, and tend to arch the shoulders backward, which in turn give more curve to the breast –in other words, it accentuates women’s natural curves. But one of the definitely known effects of estrogens is the narrowing of the shoulders, which obviously have more to do with the reduction of the upper body muscular mass. Also, there is a specific hormone or neurotransmitter associated to oestrogen that runs through the spine to induce more of a curve in the lower back of a woman, which is called the lordosis, because it favours penetration during sex. It happens at the time of sexual stimulation mainly. Of course with g-women, a curve in the lower back also creates such a position of the uterus that favours carrying. Now, can this come into play with t-women; I’m not sure sufficient studies have been conducted on the subject, because as a witness of some of these changes, you sometimes have the impression that even the very structure changes.
One more element could also come into play: an XY genetic code includes a growth program which is different from a XX caryotype. In other words, women’s growth stops at around 15 or 16, but men’s carry on to 21 and 22, and the bones even keep getting bigger after that. Clearly, the absorption of estrogens interferes with that program before 21, it has to: bones will still grow, but not as much, they will get leaner and longer and my hunch is (but it’s very personal –not from any study, you’re right) it has to have some kind of an effect on the body structure.
These are all personal impressions, of course.
You’re also right that testosterone is linked to shorter life span. And of course yes, the changes occurring are just amazing, and make often out of someone pretty masculine a beautiful woman after a while.
