Now sarah Palin has said she has 'fire in her belly' to run for president the attacks from the left will increase and become ever more cutting. This is because she is the only republican candidate who has a hope of winning in 2012 and that is only if the republican party has the balls to nominate her . Palin has no doubt seen her 'competition' ,see how it's a mixture of the insane, inept and out of touch and believes she has a good chance. She has that x factor that charisma none of the others have. Bill maher and Bill clinton funnily enough both say it.

Funnily enough in my view the real damage comes from sketches by comedians such as john stewart,tina fey and other funny people who will try and make her out to be a candidate who can not be taken seriously . That is the tactic the left need to use, if they use hatespeech it will have the opposite effect. Many people I know actually believe some of the things comedians say she said in their sketches she did not in fact say.

I am not a Republican but I think the attacks on Palin are pathetic and suggest a lack of political nous: if she does decide to run there will be at least two or three alternatives; I don't know enough about Pawlenty, Santorum or Gary Johnson, but for the sake of argument, are any of them worse than Michael Dukakis when he ran for the donkeys? At any rate I would prefer to see some meat in the argument, same as with all the candidates.

You guys have a fool at the moment making a pratt of himself in front of our queen.I can just imagine the media if Bush or even better Palin had done what he did.But then he has chocolate skin, is preaching hope and change and is ever so cool and hip:salad.Without that teleprompter telling him what to say and do he shows his true intelligence. . They are actually blaming his perfomance at the dinner on the queen. I think the killing of osama surge in the polls has already been used up hasn't it?

And Palin is pretty much the only candidate the public don't say 'who' when they are talked about as potential 2012 candidates. She is also pretty and photogenic as Obama is handsome (plenty of women apparently fancy Obama) and can give a decent rabble rousing speech that people will not fall asleep over. Those basic things count for much in modern politics when a leader is chosen.

Sometimes when I drive down the road I look at various people and think ,wow this guy/woman has the vote. Most voters have a very basic grasp on the issues if any, you would be very surprised and saddened about just why some people vote for candidates.

And society has changed greatly since the time of nixon. Just look at the trash that passes for entertainment that the masses watch. Society has become even more sexualised and shallow. After 8 years of Republican government, the people wanted something different, and Obama offered it. The Republicans chose McCain because of his seniority and gravitas, and they lost. But he lost because there were real issues that divided Americans, not just haircuts. Yes, being telegenic matters, but it isn't crucial; and unless I am mistaken the records shows that African-Americans have voted mostly for the Democrats since they had the vote.

Using the word Chocolate when referring to black people is offensive; I doubt you would go into McDonalds and say to the person serving you should they be black, 'Hi there chocolate face, I'll have a Big Mac Meal and a Coke', would you?
