Fmr. Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf says the Osama bin Laden raid was 'arrogant' and technically an 'act of war.'

It's too bad Musharraf wasn't in the compound. He could be sharing 73 virgins with bin Laden right now.

I think the operative word in President Musharraf's title is "former".

Musharraf was interviewed on BBC-2's Newsnight programme last night. The interviewer, Jeremy Paxman, put it to him that Pakistan was in effect blackmailing the USA/NATO by proposing:'either you give us aid for the war on terror, or Pakistan will become a safe haven for terrorists' -which Musharraf did not exactly deny, since that is his position, only he doesn't call it blackmail. He disputes the claim bin Laden had been in Pakistan since 2005 and denied the ISI had any involvement in it, claiming that there 'must have been rogue elements' who assisted OBL. His main claim is, of course, that instability in Pakistan is caused by India, he claims a large cache of weapons was recently siezed, and where did it come from? 'It can only have come from India'. Whether he meant the Indian government or Muslims in India with links to Paksitan he didnt say, unfortunately for him Pakistanis regularly blame India for all their woes, as they did during the latest floods which were caused by India, etc.

Well, it's hard to fault him for that. I wouldn't have answered that question either. Nor would any politician with a mental acuity above drooling idiot. C'mon, dude... The guy didn't get where he is by being stupid.

Yes but Paxman's reputation rests on him making people he interviews uncomfortable -he has on occasion been rude and aggressive, and Musharraf does sometimes look as if he is about to crumble; it was worth a shot anyway. Musharraf for what its worth is pondering a new pitch at the title.

Well maybe he is that stupid. Right now he's still alive. That job doesn't seem to be very conducive to that physical condition.
