Glen or Glenda written, directed by and starring Edward Wood Jr. IUt really is a good movie, the budget was just obviously limited. If David Lynch made it those psuedo intellectual typoes woulcall it a masterpiece. It had a David Lynch quality to it with Bela Lugosi as a God like character telling the story directly from Glen's mind while the psycologist tells it to the inspector.

The "Green dragon that easts lil boys and puupy dog tail, etc" metaphor was a brilliant way of putting how Glen's secret desire was manisfesting in his mind and the only solution was to set himself free. I liked the movie and understood everything in it the same way I understood everything about Plan 9 from Outer space. Weak minded posers just think it's cool to pretend (or maybe there just stupid and not prending.) not to understand his movies becayse thast's the vogue thing to do.

I saw a film once called "I want what I want" that I thought was a very good portrait of a ts. I was a black and white british film from the 60's

Glen or Glenda despite it's hokeyness is reall quite a decent film.

Soldiers Girl in my opinion was horrid....i bought the DVD and watched the movie, and then the extra bonus scenes.
Why did the makers of this film find the manliest actor they could find to portray the female part??The real life girl in this true story,Calpernia Adams was shown in the extra scenes, and she wasnt the most passable girl Ive ever seen, however she was attractive...but the actor Lee Pace who played her part lives as a man.

I was insulted that the makers found it necessary to cast a man to play Calpernia's part ...to make it obvious to middle America that the girl in question was transgender, figured unless they got a man to play her role, nobody would get it.

Its the same discrimination that African americans faced back in the 20 and 30s when they had Al Jolson(a white man) paint his face black because they figured an african american couldnt do it himself.

to me this film is a slap in the TG communities face.
