Taking this poll to see the percentage of people here that have tattoos. I don't have any but I like them on other people if it's nice work. I never found anything that I would want for life. I also didn't want to get the same 4 tattoos everyone else gets. Where's the individuality there?

Women can be sexy with tattoos but it's a real risk sometimes. If a gal has the attitude to wear that ink it can enhance her beauty. If she can't pull it off or has jail/ghetto/biker mama tattoos it detracts horribly from any beauty she might have had. Some of you ladies here on the board look great with your artwork. Feel free to tell the story and any backstories of your tattoos.

Anyway, do you have one or more tattoos?

I have a funny "sleeves" story. I worked at this Rock 'n' Roll club in Austin, Texas years ago. Behind our club was a tattoo shop. They offered the doormen one free sleeve. I passed but a couple of guys took them up on it. One of them was a guy that reminded me of Bobby Hill but everybody called him Stewart. This poor kid was a sad sack that had everything going wrong all the time. Anyway, he came back and showed us the outline. He sat on a barstool and we looked but none of us could figure out what the Hell it was. Time goes by and now he's ready to have color put in. He went to the shop but OOPS... they're closed. Fuckers got in trouble with the IRS and got shut down in the bat of an eyelash. I ended up moving back to California a few months later and this loser was still trying to explain what the Hell is on his arm. Honestly, I've had better looking things on my arm after I passed out drunk on the floor and my buddies went to town on me with a Sharpie.

I tried to give myself a tattoo in the bathtub when I was 11. Now it just looks like a big, gray blob. I'm not going to get into what it was supposed to be. I was 11. I'm just glad I can't make it out anymore.

Sarah Palin?

BTW, that lady who is in her 70s, is the most tattooed senior in Europe, apparently. She was on Russell Howard's BBC3 show* last year and she is totally crazy.

I have a Silver Surfer on my back, although I really need to have the colours done again (it was done in '93). I'm thinking about getting a Sailor Jerry style tattoo sometime, as soon as I find a really good tattoo studio.

I know exactly what you mean Dino, I didn't get my first tattoo until I was 30. I just couldn't think of anything that would still hold meaning when I'm old and wrinkled. Then I had an epiphany of sorts, I'm half Italian, half Welsh, I'm still trying to find something uncommon but distinctly Italian, but the Welsh one was easy......http://www.partnershipsuk.org.uk/uploads/images/Wales%20flag.jpg

I have the Welsh draig tattooed on the left side of my chest, I decided that shading it in red would look crappy and fade to quickly, so the guy on my ship that did the tattoo did some shading/shadows in the outline. I love the look of it, and for a first tattoo it's pretty big (the size of my hand). Now to find the Italian one I want to get....

I have two. One on each arm. The Punisher on my right arm and a dragon on my other. I've been working on getting another one on my right calf.

I have one on my right arm. A bull skull with a spear and tomahawk crossed behind it. Would love to find someone who could design a half sleeve around it.

No, the henious actions of power drunk lunatics, National Socialists et al, should never be compared to art, as the "tattoo" on your friends arm was placed there soley as a method of control and identification.

HAHAHA, it was a good thing the "Doctor" was in, so as I may point out the blatantly obivous.

My prognosis for "all" is life followed by death.
